I posted a couple of days ago looking for the perfect boy name to go with the girls’ names that I have picked out. {My girl names are listed below. The middle names are family names!} Boy names are so much harder for me to pick out than girl names …
Anyway, I posted a list but wasn’t sure that I loved any of them. Yesterday, I came across the name [name]Crew[/name] and I fell in love. Now, I’m not sure if this is just a phase or if I really love the name. His first name will be [name]Forrest[/name] after my father, but he will mostly go by his middle name. What do you all think of the name [name]Crew[/name]? Does it fit into the same style as my girl name choices? I’ve considered spelling in [name]Crewe[/name], but I’m afraid it’s too close to [name]Sloane[/name] …
What do you all think? Does [name]Forrest[/name] [name]Crew[/name] fit or do one of the above names fit better? [name]Do[/name] you have a better name?
I think [name]Forrest[/name] [name]Crew[/name] flows the best of your options. Side note here( I am a firm believer that you should call a child by its first name. I speak from experience.) It is not my usual style, but I did a double take when I saw your post. I really like it. There is something unique and special about it!
Hmmm…not sure about it. I used to work at a camp and we cleared trees from pathways. We were called the ‘forest crew’. Not sure if the kid would get asked about his job or not!
I love your girl’s names. [name]Harper[/name] is one of my all time favorite girls names. I am very disappointed that it is becoming so popular, it’s been my favorite name for 15+ years and now the celebrities have stolen it!! I also love [name]Sloane[/name].
I think [name]Forrest[/name] [name]Crew[/name] is a great name. Why would you not call him [name]Forrest[/name] though? I love it. I don’t think you should add the e. It’s unnecessary.
I like the name [name]Forrest[/name], and [name]Crew[/name] is super cool. Unfortunately I don’t like them together - sounds like a profession/title (a group of people assembled to work in the forest for whatever reason). I would go with a different mn, and save [name]Crew[/name] for a future son.
I like [name]Crew[/name] and [name]Forrest[/name] but I agree with the above poster. It’s a pain to be called by your middle name , or worse a nickname of your middle name instead of your first name. It would make life easier if you called him by his first name whatever you choose.
Is it absolutely essential that [name]Forrest[/name] be the fn? [name]Crew[/name] definitely goes better with your girl names. While I like both names separately, I don’t especially care for them together in any combination.
Thanks everyone for the thoughtful and extremely helpful comments!!
It is not essential that [name]Forrest[/name] be his middle name, I just love the idea of my son and my father sharing the same first name. I never thought about [name]Forrest[/name] [name]Crew[/name] being a job title … thanks for bringing that to my attention.
I really appreciate all of your help! I have no clue what to do about his name …
While I love both [name]Forrest[/name] and [name]Crew[/name], I agree with a previous poster that together it sounds like a job title.
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Bennett[/name] – Not keen on the fact that both names end the same way. The flow is disrupted.
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Cohen[/name] – Being Jewish, I find the usage of [name]Cohen[/name] as a name extremely offensive. It means “priest” in Hebrew – cohain are Jewish priests. To me, that’s like me naming my kid Reverend or [name]Priest[/name] or something…
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Keaton[/name] – Eh. It’s okay.
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Finnian[/name] ([name]Finn[/name]) – [name]Finnian[/name] is a bit of a mouthful. I don’t like it. It just sounds rather foolish to me. What about [name]Forrest[/name] [name]Phineas[/name]?
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Declan[/name] – I think this is really cute!
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Elijah[/name]/[name]Elliot[/name] ([name]Eli[/name]) – I like both, but I think [name]Forrest[/name] [name]Elijah[/name] sounds best.
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Bowen[/name] – I don’t like [name]Bowen[/name]. It feels like [name]Owen[/name] with a B attached pointlessly to the front.
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Emmett[/name] – See [name]Bennett[/name].
[name]Forrest[/name] [name]Jonah[/name] – [name]Love[/name]! Really cute.
[name]Just[/name] wanted to add…
If you really love [name]Crew[/name] and wanted to call your son by that name anyway, maybe you could switch the order. I know that [name]Crew[/name] [name]Forrest[/name] doesn’t exactly flow that well, but most people don’t use the middle name very often and if [name]Crew[/name] flows with your last name, it might be a nice way to honor dad in the middle spot. Or [name]Crew[/name] [name]Forrester[/name] flows a little better and still has the nod to pops. [name]Just[/name] a thought. And I personally like [name]Crew[/name] without the e.
