Found a name I love but is it too matchy, matchy to DS's???

So I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the name [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], it just fits all the criteria I am looking for, nn could be [name_u]Joss[/name_u] or [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. DS is [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], nn [name_m]Jax[/name_m]. [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], too matchy matchy??? My husband said we sound like the Duggars, lol.

Thoughts?

It’s mighty matchy. BUT if you intend to call them [name_m]Jax[/name_m] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u]… I think you can pull it off.

I lovelovelove [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]! I agree that [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] is a bit Duggar-esque, and maybe even worse, with them starting AND ending the same way. I adore [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], though, and if I can’t use it, I’m all for someone else being able to! And [name_m]Jax[/name_m] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] are pretty cute. And [name_u]Joss[/name_u] is fun. [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] is so feminine and sporty at the same time. The epitome of cool. le sigh. I think it’s ultimately up to you. I think it’s probably too close, but I love [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] so much I want you to be able to use it.

I think it’s fine, but I’d be careful not to choose a name that starts with J next time, especially if it also ends in an N sound. But I think that one that ends in N without starting with J sounds all right.
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u] is very matchy.
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] is quite matchy.
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] doesn’t feel over-matchy to me.

Thanks guys. I am still torn!!

This is probably our last baby so I wouldn’t have to worry about a 3rd name and if I did I would not do a J again lol.

My daughters name is [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] and we didn’t find out the sex before she was born and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] was our boys name. absolutely [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] these names and hoping for a boy next so I can use [name_m]Jax[/name_m].

Great choice and not too matchy! I get a compliment on her name every time it’s used or mentioned.

They’re matchy, for sure. Too matchy for me to use, though I could see why another person may disagree.

[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] are too matchy for me. They both start with J, end in the “in” sound, AND have the “sss” sound in the middle of the name. If you wanted to use one as a first and the other as a middle though, that would be fine to me.

They are definitely very matchy, with the same beginning, middle and end sounds.

Two of my favorites names are [name_u]Madigan[/name_u] and [name_m]Macsen[/name_m], but because of their closeness I wouldn’t use both of them ([name_m]Add[/name_m] in DSS named [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]…and that’s [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too much!)

But, then again, if it doesn’t bother you - who cares? With different sounding nicknames, it could be pulled off. (I wouldn’t call her [name_u]Joss[/name_u] - [name_m]Jax[/name_m] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] are good, though). If you love it, use it!

[name_m]Way[/name_m] too matchy for me. What about using [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] as a middle name and calling her [name_u]Joss[/name_u]/[name_u]Josie[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]?
