Found a 'new' old name

It’s not often that I run across a ‘new’ name and develop a crush, so I thought I’d share this, see what everyone thinks.

[name_m]Richard[/name_m] II was on Great Performances last night, which prompted me to do a little googling to refresh my memory of English kings. This led me to Taddea.

Taddea Visconti (1351-1381) was the daughter of a Milanese lord and became a Duchess of Bavaria. She was the grandmother of [name_m]Charles[/name_m] VII of [name_f]France[/name_f] and the great-grandmother of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_f]VI[/name_f] of [name_f]England[/name_f].

It’s apparently a feminine form of [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m].

For those of you with an Italian connection, how would you pronounce this? I’m thinking [name_m]TAH[/name_m]-dee-uh (rhymes with [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]). And is it still a widely used name?

For the rest of you, what do you think? Would Taddea work on a modern little girl?

I think Taddea is pretty and fun. Great find!
I’m not Italian but the [name_m]German[/name_m] in me would pronounce it TA-day-ah.
