I voted for [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. I like the spunk of this name. My second choice would be [name_f]Nell[/name_f] but I like [name_f]Nell[/name_f] better as a nickname!

I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. Voted [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. I think they’re both fun and spunky. Heard of but not common. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is a bit more frilly but [name_f]Nell[/name_f] more short and sweet. But I truly adore both. The other 2 are nice but I don’t love them like I do [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f]!!!

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]! It’s so chic but has a bit of quirk. I just find it very romantic and sophisticated but not overly feminine. [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] would be my second pick. I love her too - she seems very royal to me (in a good way) and I love the meaning.

None of them are bad, however.

I voted [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. I think it’s spunky because of the [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_m]Quimby[/name_m] books but also a bit dramatic because of the similarity to [name_m]Ramon[/name_m]. I also like [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. It’s more quiet and sweet to me. [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is growing on me because of the meaning, but the beginning sound is a downside and the only one I have come across is a contestant on The [name_m]Bachelor[/name_m] :stuck_out_tongue: Because of those I prefer [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is still unfamiliar to me (from the US) and makes me think of Nanook of the [name_u]North[/name_u].

I voted [name_f]Nell[/name_f] for the classic elegant simplicity. This is actually one of my absolute favorite names, though I would probably use it as a nickname for [name_f]Ellen[/name_f].

I voted for [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] but I like them all!

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- I agree with a pp who described this as chic, quirky, romantic. It almost feels like a “princess” name, without being at all frilly. I picture someone witty and “coquettish”, creative and well spoken, a bit mysterious/hard to read

[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]- this one is also playful and romantic I find it charming and pleasantly clunky (like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]). I picture someone artsy, bookish, and good natured

[name_f]Nell[/name_f]- I think [name_f]Nell[/name_f] would suit nearly anyone. Has a really nice sound.

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]- feels floral, fragrant, feminine, celestial, reminds me of aster and astrology. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], but not my favorite of your list

Thank you all. So interesting reading your comments, I find it so difficult to separate these four!

Oh gosh, they are all lovely. But I would have to say [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is a clear favourite of the four. I love [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]'s simplicity, quirkiness and general unexpectedness. I just seems like a really fresh name with a lot of strength and beauty to it.

I voted for [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. I think I like [name_f]Nell[/name_f] just as much though.

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] feels really spunky to me, but in a lady like way; proper, but fun at the same time.

[name_f]Nell[/name_f] is sweet and kind, although I prefer [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].

[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] has always intrigued me as well, however, I can’t get past the moan syllable.

I voted for [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. I like the sound of it, it’s a spunky name for me, and vaguely floral at the same time.

I also like [name_f]Nell[/name_f], but more as a nickname rather than a full given name.

Good luck deciding!

I love all 4 but I’ll say [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is my favourite. I feel like [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is both strong and feminine at the same time.

The others don’t appeal to me at all.

Ooh, I love all four, but ultimately voted for [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]. I just love how chic yet sweet she is. She feels homey but ever so slightly exotic.

I love [name_f]Nell[/name_f], but I feel like she might constantly be telling people “no, it’s just [name_f]Nell[/name_f], not short for anything.” I think this not necessarily because of her brevity, but rather because there are so many full names lend themselves to [name_f]Nell[/name_f] as a nickname.

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] - I love the image of this name. She’s maybe more cheery and friendly and a bit less buttoned-up than [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]. I do prefer the sound of [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] though.

[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - I nearly voted for [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. I can easily see her in petticoats or ragged overalls and love the the feel of my mouth when I say the name out loud.

This was tough because I really love all four, but in the end it came down to [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f].

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] has such a unique and different sound, it’s pretty but not frilly and I really like it. I didn’t at first but now I really enjoy looking at it and hearing it!!

I voted for [name_f]Nell[/name_f] however. I love the soft sweet sound of it, the casual, gentleness yet the sort of rugged vintageness to it. It reminds me of literature which is always a plus too

This was really difficult, since I particularly love [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. In the end I voted for [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], but [name_f]Nell[/name_f] was an extremely close second. For what it’s worth, I think [name_f]Nell[/name_f] goes better with [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u].

I love [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]. The sound is beautiful but I love how uncommon it is.

Thank you all. The poll results are closer than I’d expected!

Nice to hear that the names are generally liked. I thought we had a favourite in mind but reading all these responses I’m finding reasons to fall in love with all four again!

I love [name_f]Nell[/name_f]! I love how small and sweet she is, and with so much energy and character. An old-fashioned name in the style of [name_f]Bess[/name_f] and [name_f]Nan[/name_f], she has a relaxed and country feel while being extremely versatile and wearable. I would only ever consider using her as a short form of [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] however - I do think she has the weight to stand on her own, but as a matter of principle I feel that everyone deserves a full name, rather than just a diminutive.

The others are lovely as well. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is a gypsy-style name to me - by that I don’t mean a [name_u]Roma[/name_u] name, so much as a name that embodies the cultural stereotype of the Bohemian, free-spirited girl with a fiddle, flowing hair and bare feet. [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] are both artistic-chic in style, and much more urban and polished than [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. I like the sound of [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], but I find the history of [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] more appealing.
