Fourth daughter--stuck for a name

We have three girls: [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Irene[/name], [name]Veronica[/name] [name]Jeanne[/name], and [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Louise[/name]. We call them [name]Evie[/name] (eh-vee), [name]Vera[/name] (vee-rah), and [name]Nora[/name].

Our thoughts for baby girl 4 due in Septemeber:

[name]Camille[/name] (nickname [name]Cami[/name] or [name]Millie[/name], current front-runner)
[name]Dorothea[/name] (nickname [name]Thea[/name])
[name]Vanessa[/name] (nickname [name]Nessa[/name])
I always come back to [name]Cecelia[/name], but our niece’s nickname is [name]Cece[/name], so I’m not sure what we’d do for a nickname.

We like the names [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Magdalena[/name], [name]Lillian[/name], and [name]Josephine[/name], but they’re all names of my cousin’s kids, so I don’t really want to use those.

[name]Just[/name] wondering if there were any names that we might not be thinking of, or if some external ear would have a reaction to the names we’re considering.

[name]Camille[/name] is lovely and it goes well with your girls names (especially [name]Genevieve[/name]) so it would be my favourite on your list. [name]Dorothea[/name] has the same vintage quality as [name]Eleanor[/name] but to me they seem a bit similar (the “or” and the “ea”). Vanessa is pretty but she would share an initial with [name]Veronica[/name]. Have you considered [name]Cecily[/name] instead of [name]Cecelia[/name]?

Suggestions

[name]Juliet[/name]/[name]Juliette[/name]
[name]Isabel[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Roxana[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name]/[name]Rosamund[/name]

[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Gabrielle[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Angelica[/name]
[name]Adrienne[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]/[name]Beatrice[/name]

[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Amabel[/name]

I really like [name]Camille[/name] that’s my favorite from your list I think it will go great with your other girls. [name]Vanessa[/name] would be my next choice but as [name]Mischa[/name] mentioned it is close to [name]Veronica[/name]. Other names you may like are:

[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Corrine[/name]
[name]Savannah[/name]
[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Adriana[/name]
[name]Melinda[/name]
[name]Constance[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Cynthia[/name]
[name]Sylvia[/name]
[name]Cassandra[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Melody[/name]

Honestly, I love [name]Camille[/name], but kind of hate [name]Cami[/name]. Might be association with someone I once knew. [name]Millie[/name] is really cute and I think fits better with the other girls.

[name]Dorothea[/name]/[name]Thea[/name] is sweet, but [name]Thea[/name] seems too close to [name]Vera[/name]?

Out of those I love [name]Camille[/name] the most, but I agree with loisvs – not so in love with [name]Cami[/name]. [name]Dorothea[/name]/[name]Thea[/name] would be next in my preference. Or what about Mila? Estelle (nn [name]Elle[/name])?

I also agree with the previous posters who really like [name]Camille[/name], but not [name]Cami[/name]. [name]Millie[/name] is great, though! I’m having trouble coming up with names others haven’t put out yet, especially since you guys really seem to like nicknames. I do think [name]Sylvie[/name] or [name]Colette[/name] would be really pretty additions. But NN-wise… Sylv or [name]Colie[/name]? I actually like Sylv, but really hate [name]Colie[/name].

I agree with not being thrilled about [name]Cami[/name]; it’s my strongest reservation because I have a couple of negative associations with it.

My husband found a reference to [name]Callie[/name]/[name]Cali[/name] as a nn for [name]Camille[/name]. People already assume our “[name]Evie[/name]” ([name]Genevieve[/name]) is an [name]Evelyn[/name]; would that just complicate things further? Or does [name]Callie[/name]/[name]Cali[/name] seem a reasonable nn to others?

I’m having trouble winning husband over to [name]Millie[/name] nn because he works at a school where a student named [name]Millie[/name] died a couple years ago; she would have graduated this upcoming year. He feels it might be misinterpreted or be too emotional for the students, several of whom babysit for us regularly.

[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Camille[/name] nn [name]Mila[/name]?

[name]Cecelia[/name] could be called [name]Celia[/name] and [name]Celie[/name]. It still could be confusing, I suppose. Maybe [name]Leelee[/name]? That might be too funny.
Girl #4 should have an “ee” ending nn to match [name]Evie[/name], not another ends in A name like [name]Vera[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]. In my opinion, anyway. Then there is a pattern.
[name]Camille[/name] nn [name]Millie[/name] is my pick from your list
Some other possibilities:
[name]Carmen[/name] nn [name]Minnie[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name] nn [name]Lindy[/name]
[name]Rosemarie[/name] nn [name]Rosie[/name]
[name]Irene[/name] nn [name]Renie[/name]

[name]Camille[/name] is my favorite from your list.

I like the suggestion of [name]Mila[/name], and there’s also [name]Cam[/name], [name]Mimi[/name], [name]Callie[/name], or really any other pet-name you like. I think too much emphasis is placed on nicknames, and a parent should be able to call his/her child by whatever cutsey name he/she wants, regardless of how close it is to the given name. Most likely when she grows up she won’t be going by her nickname, she’ll choose to go by her full name anyway.

Beautiful names on all your daughters!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Camille[/name] nn [name]Callie[/name] - really cute.

[name]Camille[/name] nn [name]Millie[/name] gets my vote! I think [name]Camille[/name] is classic and sounds very sophisticated and beautiful, and [name]Millie[/name] is sweet and adorable. It’s a name that would work for a child and an adult. [name]Love[/name] it! And it goes so well with your other girls’ names.

Thanks for the [name]Mimi[/name] suggestion! Our other nicknames are already ones that people don’t necessarily guess when they hear the full name, so we think it will work for us. Now just to find a middle name we like with [name]Camille[/name].
