Yes or no? First or middle? [name]Male[/name] or female? Thoughts? Opinions? Thanks, Berries!
Middle for sure, I donāt think fox and glove together make a good first name, flower or not. That being said, I think it could make a whimsical, unexpected middle name. I do think it would be better for a girl, because one, its a flower, and, two Foxglove reminds me of Foxface from the Hunger Games. I think something like [name]Elizabeth[/name] Foxglove or [name]Sutton[/name] Foxglove would be cute.
As an X-files nerd I love [name]Fox[/name], as in [name]Fox[/name] Mulder⦠Not a fan of foxglove though⦠Itās a plant right?
I think it would have to be in the middle for sure and since itās a flower, I have to say girl. It just feels weird putting a flower name on a boyā¦
I agree with previous posters, it could work as a girlās middle name, and especially if it has special meaning for you. The flowers are lovely, but Iām not a fan of the sound of Foxglove as a personās name.
it sounds like something from a fantasy novel, not a proper name in real life. The plant itself has medicinal uses but is also essentially toxic - not that everyone knows this, but it weirds me out a little⦠if you really like it, its definitely only a middle name.
If not usable, itās cute, as is the nn [name]Fox[/name]. I used to know a girl called [name]Ffion[/name] (fee-on) which if I remember rightly is āfoxgloveā in Welsh.
I read that as Foxface at the beginning. Too much Hunger Games for meā¦
It could make for a really pleasant middle name for a girl, but I wouldnāt recommend it as a first.
I like [name]Fox[/name]. Butā¦glove? This is one of those that looks okay written, but pronounced itās clunky and ridiculous.
either, and for either gender
No, middle, female - to answer your questions in order. Sorry, but I donāt find it appealing.
I like it for a girls middle name especially if thereās some reason to do it. [name]Just[/name] on its own, itās still kind of appealing, but over the top.
Foxglove is quirky and intriguing as a middle name.
I donāt know⦠even as a middle I am having a hard time. I guess I agree with a pp that it looks better written than said out loud.
It bothers me as a fn/mn because all I think when I hear Foxglove is: pretty poisonous flower. I donāt think Iād want to name my children after poisons (ironically I really like names like [name]Lucifer[/name] - though I would never use that either except for a pet for obvious reasons).
Its not my style but its not the worst name ever. Be prepared for the ā[name]Foxy[/name]ā comments if used as a girls first name.
Could be middle name for a girl
I love [name]Fox[/name], it was almost our sons name, but I think unless you know your plants Foxglove would get some hilarious reactions⦠In answer to your questions, if it was in the middle I would say girl, as a first name I would say boy (I know a female bub named [name]Foxy[/name] and I cringe every time I hear it!!!) but always referred to as [name]Fox[/name]. But overall Iād have to say, girl middle name, and Iām not really a fan, while I donāt think you should worry about what otherās say, in regards to names, youād have to think, how would it be to grow up as Ms./ Mr. Foxglove [name]Smith[/name]? It sounds slightly funny if you ask me Iād probably have a little chuckle if I met him or her, cute kind of quirky middle name though
[name]Grace[/name] x
I really love [name]Fox[/name] as a FN for a boy.
Foxglove I probably wouldnāt use on either gender as I picture a bit character in a fantasy novel āElowen Foxglove, maiden of Treehall, you and this magic rock-in-a-sock are all that can save us from the orcsā¦ā
