Francesca "Frankie"?

I really hate [name]Fran[/name] or [name]Franny[/name] (there was a girl I went to high school with named [name]Frances[/name] “[name]Franny[/name]/[name]Fanny[/name]/[name]Fran[/name]” that I couldn’t stand) but [name]Frankie[/name] for a girl is starting to grow on me. Thoughts?

Yes! Yes! Yes! If [name]Frank[/name] is a logical nickname for [name]Francis[/name], then why not [name]Frankie[/name] for [name]Frances[/name] or [name]Francesca[/name]? [name]Frankie[/name] is also my preferred nickname for [name]Frances[/name]/[name]Francesca[/name].

I think it’s great. Very cute. [name]One[/name] of my distant relatives (my Great-Great-Aunt) was named after her father, [name]Francis[/name]. I believe her full name was [name]Frances[/name] and she went by [name]Frankie[/name].

Yes! I love [name]Francesca[/name] nn [name]Frankie[/name]! I agree that if [name]Frank[/name] can be derived from [name]Frances[/name], then why not [name]Frankie[/name] from [name]Francesca[/name]? Beautiful formal name + spunky nn. Can’t go wrong with that combo

I really do not like [name]Frankie[/name] at all, especially on a girl.

For [name]Francesca[/name] I’d prefer [name]Annie[/name], Cesca, [name]Cece[/name], Cess, or better yet her full name. I played soccer with a [name]Francesca[/name] when I was 16 and we never called her anything but [name]Francesca[/name].

I’m not really fond of “[name]Frankie[/name]” on a girl. I think [name]Chess[/name] or Cess would be a much cooler nn option. I do like [name]Francesca[/name], though. It’s lovely.

I really prefer [name]Chessie[/name] or Cheska, even [name]Franca[/name], but [name]Frankie[/name] is cute too.

My aunt’s name is [name]Frances[/name] and she’s called [name]Frankie[/name]. I think it’s cute on a girl.

I love [name]Frankie[/name] but had [name]Francesca[/name] and [name]Frances[/name]. I think the name is overly complicated and ugly looking/sounding. I would name a daughter [name]Frankie[/name] without a longer form.

For the longest time I hated the name [name]Francesca[/name] because of how unappealing [name]Fran[/name]/[name]Franny[/name] is. I still very much dislike [name]Francis[/name]/[name]Frances[/name], however, [name]Francesca[/name] as a whole has grown on me a bit. I’d most likely never use it because I have other names that I prefer, but if I did, it’d be as a middle name. [name]Frankie[/name] is actually cute, but not my personal cup of tea. I’d say go for it.

[name]Frankie[/name] is the best nn for [name]Francesca[/name]! I’ve always hated [name]Fran[/name] & [name]Frannie[/name]/[name]Franny[/name] as nn.

Definitely. All the Francescas I know go by either [name]Frankie[/name] or Cesca/Chesca.

I love it!! It’s actually in my top 5! Though I think fritzi is a totally adorable nn for [name]Francesca[/name] too

Yes. I like [name]Francesca[/name], but mainly because it means you can use [name]Frankie[/name]. [name]Love[/name] love it.

I think it’s a very cute nickname for a beautiful full name. The perfect situation!

I think it’s horrible, sorry!! The only nickname I like for beautiful [name]Francesca[/name] is Cesca.

I don’t like [name]Frankie[/name] for a girl. I went to high school with a few Francescas, and I nicknamed one of them [name]Franca[/name] (fr-AHN-ca). I think it’s really pretty!

The Francescas I know have all gone by Cesca and one goes by Cheka. Not really a fan of [name]Frankie[/name].

Describes my thoughts, perfectly.

I love it!!! [name]Francesca[/name] is so girly and frilly, so if she’s a tomboy or really sporty she has [name]Frankie[/name] to fall back on.

You can also use the nickname [name]Annie[/name] for [name]Francesca[/name].
