Francesca or Francine?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone’
so my hubby has chosen a name for our second daughter (I chose the name for our first one) and he wants [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. I have just come across [name_f]Francine[/name_f] and kinda started to like it! havent suggested it to hubby yet but just wanted to see what people think, which do u prefer??

Thank you

I prefer [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. I still think [name_u]Francis[/name_u]/[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]/Fracine is too dated and clunky, although I know a lot of other people think they’re ready for a revival.

I love [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. [name_f]Francine[/name_f] just doesn’t feel right.

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is gorgeous!

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] makes me think of a posh, mean girl. Definitely [name_f]Francine[/name_f].

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]! I love it!

Oh, definitely [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]! [name_f]Francine[/name_f] is not for me.

100% [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. It’s actually on my list! My DH and I both love [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], and considered [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and many others… but I think [name_f]Francine[/name_f] is my favorite of the bunch!

Personally I prefer [name_f]Francine[/name_f] as it is a bit more unusual

I love [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]/Cesca, I am not a huge fan of [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. It feels very pretentious to me.

I like both, they feel very different to me. [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is a sweet nickname for either, but I think the scales tip slightly in favour of [name_f]Francine[/name_f] for me, mainly because I could use [name_u]Finch[/name_u] as a nickname in addition to [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].

I prefer [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. It just feels a little more strong and spirited to me, and has a timeless feel (good on any age–with nicknames taken into account, and has never really gone out of style OR been too popular).

That said, I do think [name_f]Francine[/name_f] is ready for a revival ([name_f]Francie[/name_f] as a nickname could be cute, too).

I like [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], but do not like [name_f]Francine[/name_f] at all.

ok ladies thanks so much. I think both are nice names but so different. In the end I think [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] may be the better option. Its international (something thats important as we are fr two cultures) and timeless… and [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is a cute nickname! and also I think [name_f]Francine[/name_f] does not go as well with our first daughters name. Thanks for the feedback ! X

I would choose [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. Of those two, I prefer [name_f]Francesca[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Francine[/name_f]! It’s beautiful & sophisticated without being frilly, and at the same time it is cute and crisp. I like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] too but it doesn’t stand out to me like [name_f]Francine[/name_f] does.

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is stunning! It’s one of my favorite names:) Not a fan of [name_f]Francine[/name_f], personally, sorry.

I vote [name_f]Francine[/name_f]! I absolutely [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

I prefer [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], it has a more open sound. I’m not a big fan if the ‘Seen’ sound at the end of [name_f]Francine[/name_f], it’s a little nasally to me…

[name_f]Francine[/name_f] is so beautiful! I’m biased though…I have a brand new little niece named [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. She is the joy of my life!

Best wishes to you!
