On the whole, I somewhat prefer [name]Franklin[/name], but I dislike that [name]Quinn[/name] rhymes with “lin.” [name]Francis[/name] is a name that used to seem old/dated/mildly nerdy to me (it is a family name, though, so I’ve still thought about using it). With House of Cards on Netflix, though, ooooh, [name]Francis[/name] has power left yet! [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] gets my vote; I find [name]Quinn[/name] crisper and more fun than [name]Griffin[/name].

Overall, I prefer [name]Franklin[/name]. [name]Francis[/name] is too prissy for me to embrace. However, taking the middle name into consideration, my favorite name here is [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]. It does bother me that “lin” and “[name]Quinn[/name]” rhyme, although I don’t think it’s a deal breaker if you truly prefer [name]Franklin[/name] to [name]Francis[/name]. As ellenelle said, I like [name]Quinn[/name] because it’s crisp, fun, and adds a bit of spunk to the combo.

[name]Francis[/name] beats [name]Franklin[/name] in my opinion. [name]Franklin[/name] sounds so stuffy. I like [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] the best!

I voted for [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], though I like [name]Francis[/name] [name]Griffin[/name], too. [name]Franklin[/name]'s nice, but [name]Francis[/name] is superb.

Also: I was at the [name]Field[/name] Museum a few months back, sometime between [name]Christmas[/name] and [name]New[/name] Year’s [name]Eve[/name], and I overheard someone call their children [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name]. I thought it was a pretty spectacular name sighting at the time, but, I mean, seeing that you live in the same area…was that you? Did I totally name-sight your kids?

I much prefer [name]Francis[/name] to [name]Franklin[/name]. [name]Francis[/name] feels more energetic to me, where [name]Franklin[/name] feels a bit stuffy. And I don’t think [name]Quinn[/name] or [name]Griffin[/name] goes as well with [name]Franklin[/name], due to the shared ‘in’ ending sound. My preference above is [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], but [name]Francis[/name] [name]Griffin[/name] would be solid too.

[name]Franklin[/name] is much more masculine to me than [name]Francis[/name]. [name]Franklin[/name] got my vote.

In general I prefer [name]Francis[/name] to [name]Franklin[/name] but with [name]Quinn[/name] as the mn I prefer [name]Franklin[/name]. [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], though both boys names to me, does have a slight unisex feel for some reason. It doesn’t feel as strong and masculine as [name]Avery[/name] [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] [name]Eli[/name] do to me.

1 [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] - a classic fn with a spunky mn
2 [name]Franklin[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] - I like both names but they are matchy in ending
3 [name]Francis[/name] [name]Griffin[/name] - for some reason, this is less appealing than [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]

@egilona: Hmm, that actually might have been us! I know we went there sometime during the holidays, but I can’t remember if it was before, after or in between [name]Christmas[/name] and [name]New[/name] Years. [name]Do[/name] you by chance remember about how old they were or what they looked like?

I voted for [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] because I think it has the best flow and goes best with [name]Avery[/name] [name]Charles[/name], [name]Henry[/name] [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name].

I didn’t get a good look - I was trying not to be creepy, and there were a few families kind of smushed together in the crowd - but I’d say they looked about early school-age, maybe preschool (I’m pretty certain the girl was younger). I’m almost positive it was [name]December[/name] 29th or 30th, and it was right around the exit of the Ancient [name]Egypt[/name] exhibit, if that makes a difference.

Anyway, I think your kids (including the one whose name I did not overhear, if that was you) have great names!

I love [name]Franklin[/name]!

I prefer [name]Francis[/name]. I ALMOST voted for [name]Francis[/name] [name]Griffon[/name], until realizing why I was drawn to that name… It’s [name]Peter[/name] [name]Griffon[/name]'s cranky father’s name on Family [name]Guy[/name] :p.

So yes, I voted for [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] :).

Well, it certainly sounds like it was us! [name]Maeve[/name] is younger than [name]Avery[/name] & [name]Henry[/name] and your descriptions sound about the right age. Wow, what a funny coincidence!

Another vote for [name]Francis[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]. I do think Pope [name]Francis[/name] has re-energized and re-masculinized the name. [name]Quinn[/name] though is quite trendy & unisex; I would go the same route as [name]Avery[/name] [name]Charles[/name] and pick something more classically manly in the middle. [name]Francis[/name] [name]Graham[/name]? [name]Francis[/name] [name]Andrew[/name]?
