Frankie and Freddie as siblings…yes or no 🤭

Are [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] acceptable together as sibling names? I am of course aware they are very similar but I think they’re on the right side of different enough, do you? Full names [name_u]Francis[/name_u] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. We are only having 2 children so no need to worry about sticking to the ‘F’ trend beyond this.

Very interested to know your opinions

I think that would be fine! especially if their full names will be francis & frederick!

both are absolutely gorgeous as well - I would be so happy to see a brother set with these names

They don’t sound bad together …I just never get why parents would want to make things so complicated for themselves. I would constantly call each one by the wrong name I think. But if that wouldn’t be an issue for you, they certainly sound cute as a pair.

Their nicknames could potentially be confused, but with the full names I think it works fine.

They seem really close. Maybe I could see it for girl [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and boy [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] but as brothers theyre to close for me. Im also a bit biased as I do not like [name_u]Francis[/name_u] for a boy at all. I do really like Frederick/Freddie.

cute names! if they were twins i could see it, but as just brothers I think they’d be too similar. Personally, I’d see this as a bit confusing and i’d get them mixed up. I think they should have a bit more of a difference.:yellow_heart:

They are actually kind of cute as nicknames! Doesn’t seem like a huge issue to me

I think so, I love sibsets like this that are sorta similar but still work together I think it’s so cute. And they’re lovely names separately too.

A more positive reaction than I expected! Thank you all for your honesty :star_struck:

I absolutely love [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] together ! I think it’s a non issue !!

I have a friend with a [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] and [name_u]Stanley[/name_u] and they are affectionately frank’nstan and I think that’s adorable too !

Not ideal but fine. They might get mixed up a lot amongst those who know both boys’ names.

One of my sisters and I have similar names to each other except we don’t have formal names to fall back on (M/olly and M/aggie) and we were frequently mixed up as kids when called by family friends and relatives.

Regardless of the similarity in the names, you will always mix up your own kids names all the time on accident so the similarity won’t make that much of a difference for you. I will say, everyone else will probably mix up their names. I have two girls [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_f]Fern[/name_f] and people often forget which is which and the names are only similar in theme not sound. If this doesn’t bother you than go for it! They’re both great names. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Francis[/name_u].
