Deciding between 3 french names, [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] or [name_f]Clarice[/name_f].
I am madly in love with the name [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. Her middle name would be [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. But I worry about the connotations of the name.
I also love the name [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. It rolls off the tongue so beautifully and ages on well woman. Her middle name would be [name_u]Louise[/name_u].
The final name I have been considering is [name_f]Clarice[/name_f]. I love the beautiful unique nature of the name, and the ability to call her [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_u]Bear[/name_u] when sheâs young. Her middle name would be [name_f]Monet[/name_f].
All are beautiful options but [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] takes it for me. It feels like the most distinctive of the three, and [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] has such a nice flow.
These are listed in the order of preference for me. I really like [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as a stand-alone first name (itâs my 8 year old nieceâs name, upon my suggestion!). I donât think itâs overloaded with its meaning, itâs quite a straightforward, happy, and confident name in real life and only benefits from the âbeautifulâ associations.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is pretty to me but only when itâs pronounced in the [name_u]French[/name_u] manner - with emphasis on the âieNNEâ. I donât like [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] at all; I find it harsh, masculine and punky (reminds me of the [name_m]Young[/name_m] Ones). I think [name_f]Monet[/name_f] would also work well as a middle after [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].
Speaking of old pop culture refs, [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] still reminds me of [name_f]Silence[/name_f] of the Lambs and I donât think I can quite get on board with it. Its a bit too intense for me. I prefer [name_f]Clarabelle[/name_f] nn [name_u]Clare[/name_u], which brings in [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as well; Claire-Elise or another hyphenated name; or even [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f].
There are a lot of other [name_u]French[/name_u] girl names I love, like [name_f]Lisette[/name_f], [name_u]Celestine[/name_u], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] etc.
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is perfection
Obviously they are all beautiful but [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is just stunning. I love the name [name_f]Belle[/name_f] sheâs beautiful, elegant, has lovely wintry ballerina imagery and is genuinely so pretty. I work with a lady whose daughter is [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and she receives continuous compliments on her name. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is on my list! [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is such a glamorous name so distinguished, beyond sophisticated and elevates [name_f]Belle[/name_f] wonderfully. I truly love this choice.
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is sleek, stylish and elegant but with sweetness too.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] is very stylish, with [name_u]French[/name_u] flair and plenty of kick too
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] is stunning - arty, distinctive and charming. It is reminiscent of [name_u]Claude[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] if that bothers you.
I think [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] is my favourite
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f] all the way. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] just doesnât flow right. [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] is more distinctive and wouldnât be asked what itâs short for unlike [name_f]Belle[/name_f] who most likely will. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] is also nice.
Well, if youâre going for [name_u]French[/name_u], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is the only of these names thatâs actually used in [name_u]France[/name_u].
I absolutely adore-adoreee [name_f]Belle[/name_f], an absolute favourite these days But I think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] is the safest choice - super beautiful and elegant. I live in [name_u]France[/name_u] and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] translates âbeauty/ prettyâ, so itâs not really a name here. Iâm just thinking that one never knows in what country their kids end up living when they grow up. [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] is not really my thing, too [name_u]Claude[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] in my opinion.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] itâs still [name_f]Silence[/name_f] of the Lambs for me even though I havenât seen the movie in twenty years.
Im kind of âehâ on [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. For some reason I have a hard time picturing it on a middle aged woman without it coming across as unfortunate (younger and older I think is fine, but middle aged doesnt work)
I love [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]! Its classy and feminine without feeling fussy or frilly.
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f] is still too âsilence of the lambsâ for me and [name_u]Ive[/name_u] never even seen the movie, but I think everyone in my generation knows the quote! however I really love [name_f]Monet[/name_f] as a middle.
