So I know [name]Pam[/name] and [name]Linda[/name] have said double L names have “jumped the shark”, and I know [name]Lulu[/name] is a well talked about nn on nameberry (I haven’t meet a [name]Lulu[/name] in real life though), and the whole [name]Lulu[/name] [name]Lemon[/name] association, but I still can’t help but like it (mainly because I used to watch vintage cartoon [name]Little[/name] [name]Lulu[/name], and it just seems so sweet and vintage!).
Was wondering if anyone had fresh suggestions for getting to the nn, but have a full name back up. I am not too keen on [name]Lucy[/name]/[name]Lucia[/name]/[name]Luciana[/name] etc sadly:(
[name]Elizabeth[/name] also works. [name]Stephen[/name] [name]Colbert[/name]'s sister, [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Colbert[/name] [name]Busch[/name], who ran for Congress went by [name]Lulu[/name] as a child.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Lyra[/name]? It’s unique but not weird and also has a certain classic feel to it. I love it. Also it has beautiful associations with music and the stars.
As a [name]Lyra[/name], I have a cat named [name]Lulu[/name] and honestly? I’d never love to be nicknamed [name]Lulu[/name], by anyone! I have the nn [name]Ly[/name] or Lyly, which is - of course sweet - but little girlish. I’d settle for [name]Laurel[/name] and then shorten to [name]Lulu[/name].
[name]Lulu[/name] was on our long list for girls. In Arabic it is a full word name that means pearls. The singular pearl, Lulua is also a name and very pretty. It’s pronounced LOO-loo-uh, just like [name]Lulu[/name], but with an A on the end.
I call my cat [name]Lulu[/name] too! Her name is Lumi (snow in Finnish). Lumi is apparently a popular girl’s name in Finland. Lumikki is the longer version.
[name]Dolores[/name]/[name]Lula[/name]
