I’m due in less than a week, and we don’t like the names we’ve come up with. Can you help us start over?
Here is what we’re looking for (it’s a tall order!):
-not in top 25, better if not in top 50 SSA names
-does not end with C/K sound
-2-3 syllables (last name is 1 syllable)
-at least 1 good nickname
-sounds friendly, smart, and cool
-not too pretentious or fussy
-preferably not trendy, has some history
-would work on a professional resume
-would not sound silly on the playground
We’ve rediscovered these names over the past few days, but aren’t sure yet if any of them fit the bill: [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ([name_u]Theo[/name_u]), [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] ([name_m]Wes[/name_m]), and [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] ([name_u]Grey[/name_u] or [name_u]Rory[/name_u]?). Thoughts?
Thank you!
I really love [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] nn [name_m]Wes[/name_m] and [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] nn [name_u]Roy[/name_u] for you guys. I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is rising quickly and especially nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] will probably be pretty popular soon.
I love all of your options. I have an uncle [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] who goes by [name_u]Gus[/name_u].
[name_m]Colton[/name_m] nn [name_m]Colt[/name_m]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] nn [name_m]Linc[/name_m]
[name_u]Bradley[/name_u] nn [name_m]Brad[/name_m]
[name_m]Bradford[/name_m] nn [name_m]Brad[/name_m] or [name_m]Ford[/name_m]
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]
[name_m]Prescott[/name_m] nn [name_m]Scott[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. My second choice would be [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] still seems a bit dated to me.
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] ([name_u]Jules[/name_u]/[name_u]Jude[/name_u]/[name_m]Ian[/name_m]/[name_u]Jay[/name_u])
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] ([name_m]Nathan[/name_m]/[name_m]Nate[/name_m])
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] ([name_u]Max[/name_u]/[name_m]Wells[/name_m])
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] ([name_m]Harry[/name_m])
[name_m]Edward[/name_m] ([name_m]Eddie[/name_m]/[name_m]Ed[/name_m]/[name_m]Ned[/name_m]/[name_m]Ward[/name_m])
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u] ([name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_u]Jamie[/name_u]/[name_u]Jem[/name_u])
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] ([name_u]Jem[/name_u]/[name_m]Jer[/name_m]/[name_u]Jerry[/name_u]/[name_u]Remy[/name_u])
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] ([name_u]Mal[/name_u]/[name_u]Kai[/name_u])
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] ([name_u]Cal[/name_u]/[name_m]Vin[/name_m]/[name_u]Vinnie[/name_u])
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] ([name_m]Oz[/name_m]/[name_m]Ozzie[/name_m])
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] ([name_u]Finn[/name_u])
[name_m]Philip[/name_m] ([name_u]Phil[/name_u]/[name_m]Pip[/name_m])
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] ([name_m]Seb[/name_m]/Bash)
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] ([name_m]Vin[/name_m]/[name_u]Vinnie[/name_u]/[name_m]Vince[/name_m])
[name_m]Samson[/name_m] ([name_u]Sam[/name_u]/[name_u]Sonny[/name_u])
Before even reading the bottom of your post where you mentioned [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] nickname [name_m]Wes[/name_m], I was planning on suggesting it. That is my favorite suggestion by far and fits all your requirements. There is also [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] nickname [name_u]Nat[/name_u] and [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] nickname [name_m]Griff[/name_m].
