Me and DH will probably start trying for a second child next year/end of this year. Our first is [name]Warren[/name] [name]Isaac[/name] which was a name we both loved and immediately agreed on. We already both have our favorite girls names and I am comfortable enough with the notion that we can negotiate when and if the time comes to name a girl. The problem comes with boys names, I cannot think of any that I love and DH doesn’t really like my ideas much either. I guess we both like older names mostly but our styles still don’t seem to match. Bleh. So without further ado here are some examples of our styles… do you think you could help us think of a few more that seem to be along these lines?
my favorites
[name]Kurt[/name]
[name]Emmerich[/name]
[name]Douglas[/name]
[name]Malcolm[/name]
[name]Harmon[/name]
[name]Lloyd[/name] - DH says “way too cutesy” -what??
[name]Joaquin[/name]
[name]Leon[/name] - we both like it a little bit, not convinced it works with our surname though
Somerled
[name]Conrad[/name]
[name]David[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Forest[/name]
[name]Linus[/name]
[name]Magnus[/name]
[name]Marlon[/name]/[name]Merlin[/name]- probably wouldn’t actually use [name]Merlin[/name] but it is a major name crush for me
[name]Ross[/name] - both of us like this name but are afraid of teasing due to the “[name]Ross[/name]” bargain stores
his “list”
[name]Elvis[/name] - I actually really like the sound but find it unusable
[name]Leonard[/name], [name]Leon[/name], [name]Leo[/name] - it really looks like [name]Leon[/name] is “the name” since it is on both of our lists but not with much enthusiasm, looking for something else
He might have more ideas but he won’t talk to me about names sigh
[name]Kurt[/name]: Seems limited to the 90’s to me.
[name]Emmerich[/name]: Pronounced [name]Em[/name]-eh-rick? Different and fresh! I like it.
[name]Douglas[/name]: Meh. Not my cup of tea.
[name]Malcolm[/name]: NMS.
[name]Harmon[/name]: Sounds like a brand of something…
[name]Lloyd[/name]: Cutesy? I don’t see it. lol NMS, though.
[name]Joaquin[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name].
[name]Leon[/name]: [name]How[/name] about something longer with the same nn of [name]Leo[/name]? [name]Leopold[/name], [name]Leonidas[/name], [name]Leonardo[/name]…
Somerled: Very different and unusual. I can’t say I like it.
[name]Conrad[/name]: [name]Conrad[/name] and [name]Warren[/name] sound great as brothers.
[name]David[/name]: Boring. lol
[name]Gavin[/name]: I think this one was on my list for a while. I nixed it.
[name]Forest[/name]: All I can think of is [name]Forest[/name] Gump.
[name]Linus[/name]: Eww. I’ve never been able to understand why everyone loves this name.
[name]Magnus[/name]: [name]One[/name] of my favorites! But [name]Magnus[/name] and [name]Warren[/name] are pretty different, stylistically.
[name]Marlon[/name]/[name]Merlin[/name]: Ahh, those guilty pleasure names.
[name]Ross[/name]: [name]Kinda[/name] plain.
[name]Elvis[/name]: I believe you’re right about the unusability.
Out of your original ideas, I like [name]Conrad[/name] best as a brother for [name]Warren[/name]. Some great new suggestions to consider as well. Goodluck!
So far I like the suggestions of [name]Raymond[/name], [name]Vincent[/name], [name]Evander[/name] , and [name]Clark[/name]. The rest aren’t exactly my style though I’ve come to realize that I’m not sure what types of boys names I like… I see some of you seem to like [name]Conrad[/name], I really do too but I feel like [name]Conrad[/name] [name]Warren[/name] was someone although I can’t find anyone on Google. Maybe I’m thinking of that doctor accused of killing [name]Michael[/name] [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Conrad[/name] [name]Murray[/name]. I was never a big MJ fan but for some reason the association creeps me out, maybe I’m weird lol. But I wounder if there are any similar names that I may like more? I do like hard C sounding boys names like [name]Curtis[/name], [name]Carl[/name], [name]Kurt[/name], [name]Keith[/name] (DH passionately hates this name), [name]Conan[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], and [name]Calum[/name] .Any ideas along those lines? So good so far thank you.
