Freya and Ingrid

So both are on my list this time around if we have a girl. As you can see from my siggy I am a big Witches of [name_f]East[/name_f] End fan. I loved both names before and WoEE just made me love them more. I was wondering if you met sisters [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] would you assume a WoEE connection? Or would you just assume they are two Scandinavian names that go together? [name_f]TIA[/name_f]!

Never seen WoEE so I would just assume that they are Scandinavian names that fit well together. I slightly prefer [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] to go with your Dd [name_f]Astrid[/name_f].

I have never seen WoEE either so I would not make that connection. I do think they fit well with your daughter’s name though.

I would see the connection since I’ve watched the show, but I don’t think others would. It’s not a very well known show and since they canceled it I think think those names would make that connection.

I do love the name [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] not so much, but [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are a great sibset.

I’ve never seen WoEE so I don’t make the connection, they just seem very fitting together. Like above, not a big fan of [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] (I adore [name_f]Freya[/name_f]!), but I feel they work brilliantly together.

I’ve always loved the name [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and think the association to mythology will always be the strongest (I wouldn’t worry about the books at all). [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] to me is a harsh sounding name that sounds extremely viking-ish, and I also wouldn’t want a name that shares a syllable with my other daughter’s name. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] was on my personal name short list though, so I’m biased!

Maybe I’m [name_m]WAY[/name_m] out of the loop, but I’ve never even heard of Witches of [name_f]East[/name_f] End  I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] sound great together!

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! Makes me feel better that many would not make the connection!

I adore [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is really growing on me. They’re lovely together but with [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] (love it btw!) I’d go with [name_f]Freya[/name_f] as [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are a bit too similar. As for WoEE I’ve not heard of it so there’s no connection for me

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] is one of my favourite names, but as a Britberry living in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u], it’s far too common now for me to use any time soon, unfortunately. I do love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] too, and I think it goes great with [name_f]Freya[/name_f], but I wouldn’t use it if I were you, as its too close to [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. Also, I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] will always be associated with the goddess first, and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] with Vikings first (though it’s still used in the Nordic countries quite a lot) so I wouldn’t worry about the association with WoEE.

[name_u]Ever[/name_u] since I started watching Witches of [name_f]East[/name_f] End, I have also adored the name [name_f]Freya[/name_f]! Although, I don’t think it pairs well with my Italian surname.

My siblings were named [name_m]Will[/name_m] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f], prior to the popular show, and they got comments all throughout our childhood–however now that the show isn’t on much anymore, hardly anyone ever notices!
