We would like to honour several people in her middle name: [name_f]Lois[/name_f] (my partner’s grandmother who recently passed), [name_m]William[/name_m] (my papa who passed last year) and [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] (my nana who passed when I was younger).
If our baby was a boy we came up with the middle name [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] to honour my nana and papa who loved to travel. But it doesn’t seem to work with [name_f]Lois[/name_f]. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] does not flow!!
We also thought of [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] because poppies were my papa’s favourite flower and the name sounds similar to Papa which we called him. But then we also miss out on honouring my nana.
I can’t think of any other way to honour [name_f]Lois[/name_f], because my sister has saved the name [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] for any of her future children lol. I did think maybe [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Heloise[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] for [name_m]William[/name_m], and [name_f]Heloise[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Lois[/name_f] but is that too similar to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]?
Can you think of any names to honour my travelling grandparents and another variation or name similar to [name_f]Lois[/name_f]?
Pleaseeeeeeee help with any suggestions you may have!!
I love the idea of a travel name! It’s tough to tie all of those names together, so i think it’s a great alternatives. Was there a favorite place they liked to travel? Did their hometown/place they were married have a nice name? [name_f]Heloise[/name_f] is way too close to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] in my opinion. Here are some names with nice meanings that you can incorporate:
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Sena[/name_f] - “this world’s beauty or grace; army; to praise; bringing heaven to earth”
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Wendell[/name_u] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] - “Travel” (also reminds me of [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] stylistically and obvious nod to [name_m]William[/name_m])
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Honor[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Bria[/name_f] - Br from [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] and ia from [name_m]William[/name_m]? It’s a stretch but very pretty name
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Delia[/name_f] - De from [name_f]Debora[/name_f] [name_f]Lia[/name_f] from [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_m]Willis[/name_m] [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] - [name_m]Willis[/name_m] = [name_m]William[/name_m] + [name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] - [name_f]Willa[/name_f] = [name_m]William[/name_m] + [name_f]Deborah[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_m]Jett[/name_m]/[name_u]Jet[/name_u] or [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_m]Jett[/name_m] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] - jet as in airplane (to symbolize their love for travel)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Delta[/name_f] - airline company
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_u]Perrin[/name_u]/[name_f]Perri[/name_f]/Peren - I found a couple websites that said these names mean “traveler” (possibly in relation to [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]?)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] - ^
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Journey[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Lola[/name_f] - [name_f]Lola[/name_f] = [name_f]Lois[/name_f] + [name_f]Deborah[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Devorah[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f] ([name_f]Devorah[/name_f] is the original form of [name_f]Deborah[/name_f])
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] [name_f]Desiree[/name_f] ([name_f]Desiree[/name_f] is similar to [name_f]Deborah[/name_f], and also means ‘desire’ which is similar to [name_f]Lois[/name_f])
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Desiree[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]HOpe[/name_f] this helps!
(Sorry for the long post) I think the easiest way to combine all three names is use [name_f]Lois[/name_f] or a name that honors [name_f]Lois[/name_f], and the combine [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] or find a name that nods towards their love of traveling. Some suggestions…
[name_f]Lois[/name_f] honor names:
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - has all the letters of [name_f]Lois[/name_f] and sounds very similar.
[name_f]Lotus[/name_f] - sounds very similar, and is also the name of an exotic flower which is a plus for your baby imo!
[name_m]William[/name_m] + [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] honor names:
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_u]Willoughby[/name_u]- sounds like a mix of [name_m]Will[/name_m] and [name_f]Debby[/name_f].
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]- means traveler (from viatrix)
I also found a website where you put in two names (i.e. [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_f]Deborah[/name_f]) and it spits out every name that can be spelled using the letters of those two names. It also has the meaning of each name next to it so you could find one relating to travel or one with a meaning that describes them and is also a combinations of the letters in their names.
It’s on babynameguide.com on their “morph search” feature. I tried to post a link but it didn’t work…
Some combinations I like (from the names I listed)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
I really love the suggestion of [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] for [name_f]Lois[/name_f]! I love naturey bohemian names too and so it seems like a good fit. The only thing I’m worried about is flow, our last name is J0hns0n so [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] J0hns0n sounds horrible together.
I also really like the suggestion of [name_f]Delia[/name_f]! I actually had that name on a long list before and didnt even realize the connection of my grandparents’ names.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] [name_f]Delia[/name_f] would break up the awkward flow with our last name. I’m just not sure if I realllyyyy love it or not…gah!
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] could be a cute name too – [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. I’m not sure how well these names are flowing. Any more opinions or suggestions?
I reallyyy really like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] [name_f]Delia[/name_f] with your last name! I think it flows beautifully whereas [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] all have 2 syllables and so does your last name… So it doesn’t flow quite as well
