I agree that it would probably work much more naturally in a place where those associations don’t exist. That said, I would still have a little hesitation because [name_f]English[/name_f] is so widespread, and you can never fully predict where a child might end up living, studying, or working in the future.
However, if you live somewhere in [name_m]Northern[/name_m] [name_f]Europe[/name_f], where Germanic and Norse names already feel familiar, I think it could absolutely work and even feel quite charming. So many names carry different associations depending on the language and culture they are used in.
Once I looked past my initial reaction, I actually found the name really intriguing. It has such an ancient, earthy feeling, strong, wise, and deeply connected to mythology. I picture forests, ravens, stone, autumn, and a little bit of magic. At the same time, it doesn’t feel overly serious; there’s something playful and spirited about its short, distinctive sound.
I’m also curious whether you’ve considered the variant [name_f]Frigga[/name_f]? I’m not sure if that spelling appeals to you, or whether it would change how wearable it feels outside Scandinavia, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it’s another form of the name. Either way, I think [name_f]Frigg[/name_f] has a lot of character and a really beautiful history behind it.
