In my last thread we were thinking about naming our baby [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] (first name, not first and MN)
However in the meantime I have been admitted to hospital with polyhydramnios (dangerously high level of amniotic fluid) waiting for our baby to be delivered. On [name_f]Monday[/name_f]!
In light of this turn of events my husband is set on [name_m]Moses[/name_m]! Which means ‘delivered from the water’ - quite fitting!
I like it enough but I’d love to hear some opinions. Suggestions for middle names also most welcome. Our last name is pronounced [name_f]Ree[/name_f]-ah.
His siblings are [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Enid[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] btw
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] all your choices! Very handsome names, and all 3 are on my list ([name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] & [name_m]Moses[/name_m]). I would say if you’re thinking about [name_m]Moses[/name_m] so last minute, make sure you’re absolutely sure it’s the right name - it might be, but it also might just be the stress of the moment. Whatever you choose, they are excellent names
All the best!
Thank you so much! [name_m]Moses[/name_m] certainly doesn’t have the “flow” problem [name_m]Peter[/name_m] poses paired with our last name so that alone makes it appealing. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] but I’m just not sure it’s going to be possible for us
I love a good name story, so I’d be inclined to go with [name_m]Moses[/name_m]
[name_m]Moses[/name_m] is a fantastic, distinctive, familiar yet unusual name which flows really nicely with your surname and works well with big sisters’ names. If it were just [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_m]Moses[/name_m], they might seem a bit too blatantly Biblical together (unless that’s what you’re going for), but having [name_f]Enid[/name_f] in there too makes for a very quirky, traditional yet bold sibset.
However, as @easterbunny said, if it’s a last-minute addition to your list you do need to think about whether you really love the name and will continue to love it, or whether it’s just a passing crush. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is a little similar in sound to your surname, the addition of [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] stops that being too obvious, so [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] would work really nicely too.
If you’re into double firsts, how about [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Moses[/name_m] to get both your favourite and your meaningful option in there?
Best of luck with your surprise new addition!
I adore [name_m]Moses[/name_m], it’s lovely choice and it goes very well with your daughters’ names. But as previous posters have said, if it wasn’t on your list before, you may have to think about it longer. It would be a nice name story, but will you continue to like the name?
Thanks for all of your input everyone! It’s especially nice to hear [name_m]Moses[/name_m] doesn’t sound out of place with the girls names which is something I wasn’t sure about.
I also appreciate the caution of being sure. Thankfully I don’t believe we need to legally lodge the birth registration papers for a week or two so we will have a grace period. And to be honest we don’t even have a list of names…we were so stuck on boys names. We liked [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and that was it. [name_m]Moses[/name_m] has really grown on me!
Keep it coming, you’re all giving me something to do while stuck in hospital!
Oh also, the double name [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] does fix the rhyminess with our last name but I don’t know how much I can rely on people actually using it…
It sounds to me like you are falling in love [name_m]Moses[/name_m] which is exactly what everyone hopes will happen. I think you’ve found THE name.
