Full Name Advice

Hello! I’m trying to work out the full name of one of my characters.

Right now I’m thinking Briyah Kestrel [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f] [name_m]Costello[/name_m] Hath. She goes by [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] (ree-ah), [name_m]Costello[/name_m] and Hath are her parent’s surnames but they are not double barrelled - she’s technically Briyah Hath but goes by [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_m]Costello[/name_m]. I know it’s very long, but that’s quite in keeping with this character.

My big question is about [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f], does it work? Should there be another equally long/slightly aristocratic name instead? Does the flow work (as much as it can with such a long name)?

I’ve also considered:
Briyah [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f] Kestrel
Briyah Kestrel [name_f]Evangelica[/name_f]
Briyah Kestrel [name_f]Orinthia[/name_f]
Briyah Kestrel Margalit

Or I could go for just: Briyah Kestrel [name_m]Costello[/name_m] Hath.

Also, Briyah is spelled this way because it’s the transliteration of a Hebrew word, but do you think it would be better spelled [name_f]Bria[/name_f] with her alternate name being [name_f]Ria[/name_f]. Or do you think it still makes sense to ‘anglicise’ Briyah (an unusual name in the story world) to [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] which is still uncommon but not so outlandish.

Thoughts on flow and suggestions for slightly-different-but-still-frilly second middles (or first middles if you think that works better) would be greatly appreciated!

I love Briyah Kestrel [name_m]Costello[/name_m] Hath, I think Briyah is much nicer than [name_f]Bria[/name_f]. And, I’m partial to [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] over [name_f]Ria[/name_f]. However, I think [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] Hath is nicer than [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_m]Costello[/name_m], but it’s your call. Also, Arabell doesn’t work for me, but that’s just my opinion.

Hmm I was unsure if Briyah was supposed to be [name_f]Bria[/name_f] or bry-uh but for some reason I vastly prefer [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] over [name_f]Ria[/name_f] so I guess stick with Briyah. I really like Briyah Kestrel [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f] Hath

Thanks for your opinions!

If it helps/changes anything, she eventually drops both surnames and takes her husband’s surname: [name_m]Venturi[/name_m]. (Not 100% on that surname but it’s been that for a long time, so probably won’t change).

It’s a pretty name, but when I saw Briyah my tongue was a bit confused. It first read [name_u]Bray[/name_u]-yuh. I think [name_f]Bria[/name_f] would be better because it’s easier read and pretty is the first impression. As for [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], I don’t think she needs two middle names. And [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is too frufru for Briyah, Kestrel, and [name_f]Rhea[/name_f]. To me tho use are more rough and nature sounding names and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is girly and frilly.

The frilly-ness is sort of the idea. She was concieved through an affair between two people whose magic was never supposed to meet, so her name is supposed to be a reflection of that kind of clash. Though the name is a bit too long so I Briyah Kestrel on it’s own could work when I take into account all the world traditions etc.

Sorry this is so vague, it’s just really long to explain!
Also, I’ve never actually written it and don’t ever actually plan to. These stories only exist for me really.

I like it. I think it could work.
