First of all, Yay for my first post here! I’ve lurked for a while now.
We are struggling to find a perfect name for our baby due in [name_f]July[/name_f]. I’ve very recently developed a name crush on [name_f]Delsie[/name_f] ([name_u]Del[/name_u] would be in honor of a family member) but I prefer it as a nickname. I’d love some help coming up with full names for it. 3 syllables would be best but it’s not a requirement.
The only one I can think of would be [name_f]Delores[/name_f]…it has [name_u]Del[/name_u] and is 3 syllables. You can always use [name_f]Delores[/name_f] as a middle name if you don’t love it as a first and go with [name_f]Delsie[/name_f] for her everyday name.
[name_f]Delsie[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Delancey[/name_f]. It has three syllables and also has a similar sound. But I also think [name_f]Delsie[/name_f] would work for a first name - it is so unique.
Have you ever seen the movie Mrs. Pettigrew lives for a [name_u]Day[/name_u]?
[name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] character is named Delysia Lafosse.
I prefer it spelled [name_f]Delisia[/name_f]…but I’m pretty certain the pronounciation is the same [dell- [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-see-a].
It seems really exotic sounding at first but through the course of the movie it really grows on you. Plus all the nn…[name_f]Sia[/name_f], [name_u]Dell[/name_u] and [name_f]Delsie[/name_f] would work for sure.
Thank you for your suggestions, ladies!! I do like [name_f]Delancy[/name_f] and [name_f]Delisia[/name_f] but DH shot them both down.
I came across [name_f]Adeliza[/name_f] and fell in love ([name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is another family name) but again DH isn’t feeling it like I am. I don’t think he is a fan of [name_f]Delsie[/name_f], period, but I think it is so sweet. I may keep trying.
You can use a [name_u]Del[/name_u] name as a first and then have a middle name as [name_u]Simone[/name_u] (or [name_f]Simona[/name_f]). [name_f]Delphina[/name_f] is definitely my favourite [name_u]Del[/name_u] name.
I think [name_f]Delsie[/name_f] is very cute for a nn. I also immediately thought of [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f], [name_f]Delancey[/name_f] and some others mentioned.
