I thought I had been decided on [name]Eleni[/name] for a while now, but lately I’ve been thinking of other ways to get to [name]Leni[/name] that fit better on my list (namely [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Helena[/name], and [name]Lenora[/name]). [name]One[/name] of the reasons I like [name]Eleni[/name] is that it honors my sister, but so would [name]Helena[/name]. And I really just love [name]Madeleine[/name] and [name]Lenora[/name].
Thoughts on these four? Which would you pick next to [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Arianne[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Liliana[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Evie[/name]/[name]Eve[/name]/[name]Genevieve[/name]?
I was thinking about this the other day, but for [name]Lena[/name]. I love [name]Lena[/name] but like the idea of ‘full names’.
All four are gorgeous. I would pick [name]Lenora[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] well over [name]Madeleine[/name] or [name]Eleni[/name], but that’s just my personal opinion. I think [name]Helena[/name] sits best with your other names. [name]How[/name] are you prn it?
I like [name]Madeleine[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] best. I don’t think [name]Eleni[/name] fits in with the rest of your top 10, if I’m honest. Its a little too exotic for sisters [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Arianne[/name], [name]Violet[/name] etc. [name]Madeleine[/name] is stunning and would be my top pick for the nn [name]Leni[/name].
I think [name]Elena[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] are both gorgeous and my favorite ways to get to [name]Leni[/name]. My own taste is a little biased towards [name]Helena[/name], but I think [name]Elena[/name] fits a little better with your list and with mine too since I’ve incorporated some of my husband’s favorites (which I also love but it’s more him driving them) like [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Grace[/name]. You and I share [name]Eve[/name] and I like [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Elena[/name] or [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] equally : D.
[name]Madeleine[/name] is also very lovely and fits with your others but I just see [name]Leni[/name] as a bit of a stretch for it.
I do love [name]Magdalena[/name] and [name]Selena[/name] too but I also think they are stretches for you (and probably for me).
Thanks, ladies! [name]Leonora[/name] and [name]Elena[/name] are definitely not options–[name]Leonora[/name] doesn’t appeal to me really at all, and I have a second cousin named [name]Alaina[/name] that I see fairly often, so that’d just be too close.
@emelis - I say [name]Helena[/name] like heh-leh-nah/[name]Helen[/name]-ah.
@strawberry shortcake - I realize [name]Eleni[/name] is very different from my other favorites, but honestly, I think [name]Rachel[/name] is pretty different from them, too. I really don’t have a problem with using [name]Eleni[/name], I think I like it so much because it is so different from my favorites.
@jesba - you find [name]Leni[/name] a stretch for [name]Madeleine[/name]? Why, if I can ask? It seems no more of a stretch than [name]Ellie[/name] for [name]Estelle[/name], or something like that. Or do you not say [name]Madeleine[/name] like mad-eh-len?
I think that [name]Helena[/name] is probably leading out of [name]Helena[/name]/[name]Lenora[/name]/[name]Madeleine[/name], but I’m not sure I love it more than [name]Eleni[/name]… I’ve really loved [name]Eleni[/name] for a long time. I do think that [name]Helena[/name] probably fits better on my list, though. And I do really adore [name]Helena[/name] nn [name]Leni[/name]! There’s something so sweetly stunning about it. I love the Shakespearean reference and that it honors my sister, too…
I like [name]Helena[/name] the most. Followed by [name]Lenora[/name].
I second [name]Leni[/name] being a stretch for [name]Madeleine[/name]. But it’s generally said Mad-eh-line in the UK so it could just be a pronounciation barrier.
I love [name]Helena[/name] and I think it is beautiful with your list I really love [name]Lenora[/name] though too, but I still think I would go with [name]Helena[/name] for you.
Re: [name]Madeleine[/name] nn [name]Leni[/name] being a stretch: you know I really can’t defend it : D. And I tend to be supportive of nn stretches anyway. I guess I just figure [name]Maddie[/name] would be so intuitive and what so many people would latch onto that it makes [name]Leni[/name] harder. But it coud work potentially.
