Full name for nickname Effie

Hello again!

My last question about Eufrosina has me wondering what names could be given for the nickname [name_f]Effie[/name_f]. I love the nickname, but feel like [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] (and Eufrosina) just aren’t wearable.

Thoughts??

I have [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Effie[/name_f] on my list.

(BTW, I love [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f]!)

It’s such a pretty nickname!
Makes me thing of Euphrasia which means good cheer.

[name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] seems wearable to me.

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]/[name_f]Felicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] (with a stretch)
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f]

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Josepha[/name_f]
[name_f]Estefania[/name_f]
[name_f]Genoveva[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Elfrida[/name_f]

Maybe you could also get to the nickname through the initials E. F.:
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Effie[/name_f] would work for any name starting with the letter F, to be honest.

I saw a TV show once with an [name_f]Effie[/name_f] in it, whose full name was [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I believe [name_f]Effie[/name_f] in the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants is just [name_f]Effie[/name_f], but I get that it sounds a bit nicknamey for some people.

I know of a family who has a [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] nn [name_f]Effie[/name_f].

Otherwise, I’m not too sure. For some reason I feel like I’ve heard of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Effie[/name_f], but I’m not sure where that comes from?

I’m guessing the [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]-called-[name_f]Effie[/name_f] that others have mentioned is from the TV series Skins (spelled [name_f]Effy[/name_f] in her case).
I think it works, especially since other [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] names (e.g. [name_f]Buffy[/name_f]) have an ‘f’ in them (and I can imagine it evolving from children saying Elizabeff).
Elisef/Elisif might be another option.

Or:
[name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]
[name_f]Fianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Finola[/name_f]
[name_f]Fenella[/name_f]
[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f]/[name_f]Theofania[/name_f]/[name_f]Theophania[/name_f]
[name_f]Federica[/name_f]
[name_f]Fernanda[/name_f]
[name_f]Fia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiamma[/name_f], Fiammetta
[name_f]Femke[/name_f]
[name_f]Fenna[/name_f]
[name_u]Fifer[/name_u]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f]/[name_f]Filomena[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiora[/name_f], [name_f]Fiorella[/name_f]
Fioralba

[name_f]Ephigenia[/name_f]/Euphegenia/[name_f]Iphigenia[/name_f],
[name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f]/ Zefirine, [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_f]Nefertiti[/name_f], Nefertari. But I’m guessing they’re a bit much for you.

My first thought was [name_f]Josefina[/name_f].

I know someone called Euphoria who goes by [name_f]Effie[/name_f].

I second the suggestion of [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! I hope to someday have a [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], who will often go by [name_f]Effie[/name_f] (a nickname my partner loves) :).

I love the name Ephemie

Ephelia is my sisters name and her nickname is [name_f]Effie[/name_f]. It’s a very pretty name.
