Full Name for Nico?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries!

[name_f][/name_f]

This feels a little out of left field for me, because I don’t generally love[name_f][/name_f] N names, but the idea of [name_m]Nico[/name_m] as a nickname has really been growing on me! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] nn [name_m]Nico[/name_m] feels the most realistic option to me though it is a lot of name (but doesn’t seem much worse than Bartholomew?). [name_f][/name_f] I am a little hesitant about how heavy it is, though, so if you had to come up with a full name for [name_m]Nico[/name_m] that isn’t a [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] variant, what name would you use?

[name_f][/name_f]

Thank you!

[name_m]Domenico[/name_m]

[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] makes great sense! Although I think [name_m]Nico[/name_m] would be well enough on it’s own without a full name.

Maybe:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Nixon[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Finnick[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Nikos[/name_m]

[name_m]Nicander[/name_m] “Nico” would be my choice.

It’s a pretty big leap but one of my first ideas was [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]. [name_m]Benicio[/name_m] is more straightforward but not for me.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Renwick[/name_m] is another idea.

Thank you for your ideas, everyone! [name_f][/name_f] I am fond of [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], but I’m also very fond of [name_m]Dom[/name_m], and can’t really envision picking [name_m]Nico[/name_m] over [name_m]Dom[/name_m] if I were to use [name_m]Dominic[/name_m]!

[name_f][/name_f]

@Greyblue[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I am rather fond of Yannick; I’ve been on a [name_m]Breton[/name_m] name kick as you know, and it’s also a variant of [name_m]John[/name_m], so a family name! [name_f][/name_f] I just don’t know that I can see me with a [name_m]Yannick[/name_m]? [name_f][/name_f] I also don’t think it has a huge[name_f][/name_f] shot of being pronounced correctly in the US lol. [name_f][/name_f] But a show I grew up watching, one of the two main characters was played by an actor with this name, and I’ve liked it for years. [name_f][/name_f] I’m not sure I’d say it’s at a “love” level, but it is one of my favorite options for [name_m]Nico[/name_m] I’ve seen here!

[name_f][/name_f]

@Demoiselle[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Nicander[/name_m] is really nice! [name_f][/name_f] I quite like it, though I feel more connected to [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m], or maybe even something like [name_m]Nicanor[/name_m], another Biblical name that feels a little more wearable than [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m]? [name_f][/name_f] But he is a really lovely name!

[name_f][/name_f]

@kachenka[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Renwick[/name_m] has a lovely meaning, and is a fun sneaky-cool way to get to [name_m]Nico[/name_m]! [name_f][/name_f] I can’t really see myself using it, but it is nice in theory, and am ALWAYS up for a bird-connected name; they remind me of my grandmother.

[name_f][/name_f]

@EloiseT[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- if I could figure out how you get [name_m]Nico[/name_m] out of [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], I might be interested [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] Though I’m very, very fond of [name_m]Freddie[/name_m], so I don’t know that realistically I’d use [name_m]Nico[/name_m] if I used [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] up front. [name_f][/name_f] I am very fond of [name_m]Henrik[/name_m], and [name_m]Henrik[/name_m] nn [name_m]Nico[/name_m] has the sort of vibes I was looking for… [name_f][/name_f] but I don’t feel connected enough to my Nordic and Hungarian roots to feel like I could get away with [name_m]Henrik[/name_m] lol.

[name_f][/name_f]

These four came the closest, but they didn’t feel more me than [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m], I don’t think, so I’ll probably just keep him in the back of my head for a while and see if he develops into a combo [name_f][/name_f]- I was thinking of [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] [name_m]Drake[/name_m] “Nico” a few days ago, but I’m not a huge fan of “N” names in general so I think it’d take quite a lot of falling head over heals for him for me to be willing to commit. [name_f][/name_f] Thanks again!

Think just being Australian [name_f][/name_f]- these things happen quite a bit where it would be [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] to [name_m]Ricky[/name_m] to Ricko to [name_m]Nico[/name_m] and you might get a teeny “huh” from people, but then a shrug “makes sense”. O-ending nicknames here can come from any tangent or even a joke that had an O ending word in it that stuck. Anyway, happy searching/ percolating! :sparkles:
