I really love the name [name_f]Bette[/name_f] (said with one syllable like “bet”) but my last name starts with O and I really can’t give my daughter the initials B.O. What are some full name alternatives that don’t start with B but aren’t [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? I’ve tried google and I’m just getting nothing.
[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to be super creative, I love when people have nicknames that aren’t obvious derivatives of their full name.
I actually really love the name [name_f]Albertine[/name_f], partner isn’t as keen but he likes “Bette” so maybe that could work as a full name!
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions of [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] but I couldn’t do it after [name_u]Harry[/name_u] and [name_f]Meghan[/name_f] named their daughter that. I don’t really feel super connected to it either.
What about calling her Bette-Ann O… (pronounced like Betty-Ann) then her initials will be BA?O.
With her having a hyphenated first name both initials will have to be there.
For example: Isla-Rose [name_u]Marie[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] her initials will be IRMS.
If you use a double barrel name she does not have to go by it except on legal documents if she wants. And you can have fun with it. Picking [name_f]Bette[/name_f] and any other name that you like that goes well with it to be her first name. Then you just have to chose or not another name for her middle name. [name_u]Or[/name_u] another option is if you already have a middle name to go with [name_f]Bette[/name_f] then you can just hyphenate it to [name_f]Bette[/name_f] if you like.
[name_f]Bettina[/name_f] and [name_f]Babette[/name_f] would be my first thoughts. But I’m also strongly pro [name_f]Bette[/name_f] being a stand alone name.
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Beata[/name_f]
Behitha
Erzsebet
Lillibet
[name_f]Barbette[/name_f]
[name_f]Betsan[/name_f]
[name_f]Beta[/name_f]
Bellita
[name_f]Bethia[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethan[/name_f]
I totally agree, I’d love to use [name_f]Bette[/name_f] on it’s own but as I said in my original post, my last name starts with O and I couldn’t give her the initials B.O with the “body odour” link
