Full name for Romy?

I really like the name [name_u]Romy[/name_u] as a nickname, but ideally I’d want a full name that could have [name_u]Romy[/name_u] as a nickname. The obvious candidate is [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], which is just ok; [name_u]Roma[/name_u] which I don’t like or [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], which I like but it’s already in the family.

Can anyone think of another name that could be shortened to [name_u]Romy[/name_u]?

I think [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] could work! It’s got most of the sounds in it.

If the other [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] doesn’t go by [name_u]Romy[/name_u], and yours will most of the time, I think it’s fine. Or you could try to get creative with first and middle names… like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Mallory[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f], etc.

I plan to name my next dog [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] and call her [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. This works nicely with [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] then an M starting middle name.

However, [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u] tops all.

I like [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] but! I’ve also thought of [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], which I really like. It’s different enough from [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], but plenty of nickname choices… [name_f]Ro[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] & my favourite [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. Think I prefer the [name_f]Rosamond[/name_f] spelling though.
