I am so in love with the name [name_u]Story[/name_u] for a girl. I like [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] as a full name, rare and gives her the nickname [name_f]Ria[/name_f] and Astor if she wants them.
Can you guys think of any more names for [name_u]Story[/name_u], or could [name_u]Story[/name_u] be a full name too?
I think [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] is really lovely, I can’t think of any other names that have the built-in nickname of [name_u]Story[/name_u] but I think most -dor- / -tor- names à la [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] could also work easily as full names for [name_u]Story[/name_u].
I personally wouldn’t go with just [name_u]Story[/name_u], it simply doesn’t feel like a proper name to me nor does it age well or sound professional; it’s cute but has no substance.
i think story is just fine as a stand-alone name, but i do love astoria! the only other thing i can think of as a more “proper” name is if she had a first name that started or ended in ‘s’ — let’s use mine for an example, so sophie or sophia — and then had the ‘tor’ in the middle spot, i.e. victoria. so her full name could be sophie victoria, but take the ‘s’ from sophie and the ‘tori’ from victoria and you get story! i knew a girl in high school who had a similar nickname — they were catholic, so her full name was mary agnes, but she went by maggie.
that said, again, i think story is perfectly lovely on her own. when i worked at an elementary school there was a girl whose name was just story and it fit her to a ‘t’! good luck!
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] is very pretty! I wouldn’t use [name_u]Story[/name_u] as a full name.
