Full names for 'Linka'?

We love the name ‘Linka’, which has been in the family for generations. It was originally short for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. Assuming we don’t just go with the shortened version on the birth certificate, what other names could we use that could get to that nickname? Thank you!

Linka sounds like a Polish nickname in which the “ka” at the end finishes out the diminutive name. I’d think that any name that has a “[name_f]Lin[/name_f]” sound would work with it…

[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Lindsay[/name_u]
[name_f]Marilyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]

You get the gist

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] was my first thought when I read the title of the thread, ha.

Agree with pp. that any name with “lin” would work. I’ll add [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] to their list.

(Though personally, I love the idea of Linka as the whole name.)

Linka is cute!!

Pp’s suggestions of [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] is great!!

I also thought of:
[name_f]Kalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Calina[/name_f]
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lina[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]

Alinka was my first thought (there’s an artist/documentary maker called Alinka Echeverría).

Halinka is a Polish name I really love ”
