i would love to use the name of a dead relative for my baby but im unsufe of actually using it. the name is nancy. im worried its too old fashioned and she gets bullied and i dont want that. i would still use it as a nickname just for in the house so i was wondering what it could be short for apart from ann anna or agnes. the only names i can think of are nani, nanita, and nanika. any other suggestions.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]?
Something like [name_f]Natasha[/name_f] would also work, or [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f].
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] is so close to [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], it would be a nice modern way to honour [name_f]Nancy[/name_f].
[name_f]Anoush[/name_f] or [name_f]Anona[/name_f]? [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] is just fine! It’s a beautiful name with a great meaning, especially if you want to name your child for a relative! I don’t think you’re child would get bullied at all, considering names like [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] are coming back into style. Here’s a few names I think could get you close to [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], but I think you could just as easily use the name itself
[name_f]Francine[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Ansley[/name_f]
[name_f]Anise[/name_f]
[name_f]Aneese[/name_f]
AliceAnn or [name_f]Alice[/name_f]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] or [name_f]Allysanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Annais[/name_f]
Annisa
Aniston
[name_f]Janice[/name_f]
[name_f]Denise[/name_f]
Good luck!
I think [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] is a lovely name! I actually know a few younger Nancys, and think it’s one of those names that is really suitable at any age.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f] ([name_f]Nancy[/name_f] is often a nickname for [name_f]Ann[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f], ie. [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_u]Reagan[/name_u])
[name_f]Annette[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Nanette[/name_f]
You could also use [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] as a MN, if you prefer.
I would go with [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]. A lovely name. However, [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is my favorite name.
thanks everyone for replying
