DH and I love the nn [name]Evi[/name] (EH-vee) and I wonder what names you can come up with to give us this nickname… DD is currently [name]Eva[/name] (EE-vah) but we don’t know if that nickname works well for our pronunciation. [name]Do[/name] you think it’s strange to use EH-vee as a nickname for EE-va? Can you think of some other names with the EH-v sound? Considering elongating [name]Eva[/name] to Evangelia or [name]Evangeline[/name] but not 100% sure about that one. We don’t like [name]Evelyn[/name] or any variation thereof. Thanks!
Oh yes- thanks for pointing that out, I’m not even sure why I spelled it that way. I’d probably spell it [name]Evi[/name], without the “e” if we use it.
Couldn’t [name]Evi[/name] be a name on its own? [name]Eve[/name] is, and [name]Evi[/name] is just a variation of that name. The names [name]Eva[/name] & [name]Ava[/name] are growing in popularity, [name]Evi[/name] is a nice, unique variation of those names, aren’t they?
If not, I found these suggestions on www.babynames.com
Evensong
[name]Evita[/name]
[name]Evony[/name]
I don’t really like [name]Eva[/name] to [name]Evie[/name]. They are both two syllables so it just doesn’t make much sense to me. I adore [name]Evangeline[/name] though. It’s so elegant. I once knew a little girl called [name]Evie[/name] whose full name was [name]Evangelia[/name], really liked that. Other options could be Evren, [name]Evadne[/name] or [name]Genevieve[/name].
