Full Names Please

Hey there!

Thanks to those who gave suggestions on my other post! We like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]” and the nickname “[name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]” for our second daughter’s name but we’re having a hard time finding a full name for [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! Besides [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]/[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f], what are some other full names? We would prefer the name not to end with “lyn” since her twin sister will be named [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

We are also open to other suggestions, though we do have a small criteria. We do not want to repeat the letters of our children’s names or nicknames (or her twin sister’s name), cannot end with “lyn”, and the first name has to go with the middle name options of [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and [name_f]Debra[/name_f]. Our children are: [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] “[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]”, [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] “[name_u]Max[/name_u]”, [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] “[name_m]Liam[/name_m]”, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]/[name_f]Debra[/name_f] “[name_f]Evie[/name_f]”, and ??? [name_u]Jean[/name_u]/[name_f]Debra[/name_f]

You’re set on [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] for one twin girl and are trying to come up with a name for the other, and are drawn to [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and/or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], is that correct?

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] definitely doesn’t work with [name_f]Debra[/name_f], so [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] it is.

Now for ___ [name_f]Debra[/name_f]. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] works well ([name_f]Deborah[/name_f] might be even better).

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] names: Since the Welsh ending ‘wen’ is found in many girls’ names, meaning ‘white, fair,’ you have many choices there.

[name_u]Wynne[/name_u]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Anwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Mairwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]
[name_f]Winsome[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]

I think the best is [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Deborah[/name_f]/ [name_f]Debra[/name_f], for flow purposes, and both girls would have E names if you like that.

Yes, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is completely set. As is the spelling of [name_f]Debra[/name_f], [name_f]Debra[/name_f] is a family name so we are not willing to change the spelling. Also, please keep in mind that we do not want repeating letters, so that would automatically eliminate names beginning with W and E. We aren’t liking those names sorry.

I also just realized we probably sound a bit contradictory about not re-using letters. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to clarify, since [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be the nickname and [name_m]Liam[/name_m] hardly ever gets called [name_m]William[/name_m], we’d be okay with using [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]…it still probably makes no sense but it makes sense in our minds, haha!!

There aren’t lots of choices for ‘win’ names. The other Welsh names ending with ‘wen’ are even more obscure ([name_f]Dwynwen[/name_f]? [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]? Gwenllian?). If you want a bit more of a stretch, maybe [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]?

We’re not super adventurous so those are too out there for us. Like we said, we are open to other names that don’t have “wyn/win” in them (that fit our criteria), we’re still only on the fence about [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]”

I think that [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is gorgeous! I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] but only as a nickname for [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] on her own. But, the names don’t work well together. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] sound great together, but you dont’ seem to love it. With [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], I think these would be great:

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] & [name_f]Winona[/name_f].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Very pretty names you’ve chosen for your kiddos. Since you kind of like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], perhaps [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] would be a nice pairing with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]?
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f]
I think it’s quite nice.
Or perhaps:
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_u]Whitney[/name_u] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] ("[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]") This goes along with your classic-but-not-boring names for the other kids, sounds great with [name_f]Debra[/name_f], and you get “[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!”
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] (lots of nickname options here!)
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] ("[name_f]Ginny[/name_f]")
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_f]Heather[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] ("[name_f]Hetty[/name_f]")
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_f]Candace[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] (“Caddy”)
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] & [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Debra[/name_f] ("[name_f]Rosy[/name_f]")
