I’d love to hear the sibling names you deem a perfect fit alongside my [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name].
(Names that are out, as they’ve been used by friends and family: [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Lila[/name], [name]Claire[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Elliott[/name].)
Thanks for the suggestions. Of those names, [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] are my favourites; however, we won’t use [name]Henry[/name] or names ending with this sound because it sounds awkward with the surname [name]Emery[/name]. We like classic names that are not tooooo common. (My partner fell in love with [name]Alice[/name], whereas I had to warm up to it because of its popularity!)
I like [name]Clark[/name] with [name]Alice[/name]! A very cute combo. I would personally vote against [name]Eliza[/name] with [name]Alice[/name] because the names sound very, very, very similar. Some other girl suggestions:
ooH [name]Love[/name] [name]Alice[/name]!
[name]Alice[/name] and [name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] and [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] and [name]Kent[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] and [name]Rex[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] and [name]Hugh[/name]
hehe just saw [name]Clark[/name]. I like it. Then don’t have [name]Kent[/name] as well!
[name]Alice[/name] is my top girl name, and I love that you’ve paired it with a long magical middle! I too struggled with the popularity of [name]Alice[/name] (I’m usually into obscure fanciful names like [name]Oberon[/name] and Illyria) but my husband’s love for the name and all the amazing literary, film, and historical associations outweighed the popularity for me. My favorite sisters for [name]Alice[/name] are [name]Lucy[/name] (although I see this one is out) and [name]Ophelia[/name] (too out there for you?). Here are some more suggestions:
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Gwyneth[/name] (I love [name]Winnie[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] together)
[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] (too popular?)
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name] (perhaps as a middle name, it seems a bit long to pair well as a first, but is a perfect compliment to [name]Cordelia[/name]!)
[name]Faye[/name]
Rhoslyn (my favorite [name]Rose[/name] name, but there’s also [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], etc)
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name] (love this)
[name]Lacey[/name] (since you can’t have [name]Lucy[/name]. And [name]Lacey[/name] is a darling nickname for [name]Letitia[/name])
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
potential brothers:
[name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Alice[/name] and [name]Teddy[/name]. I die!)
[name]Robin[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name]
[name]Henry[/name] (too popular?)
[name]Oliver[/name] (same)
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name] (as in Pride and Prejudice)
[name]Leopold[/name] (!!! [name]Alice[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] and Leopold____ just pushes all my happy buttons! [name]Leopold[/name] [name]Jack[/name], perhaps? Swoon)
good luck! can’t wait to see what you come up with
Good suggestions, Berries! I’d love to see what you’d come up with from the following. The surname is [name]Emery[/name].
Names we love that are out due to their similarity to [name]Alice[/name]:
[name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
Are these names too similar in sound to [name]Alice[/name]?
[name]Beatrice[/name] - the 3 syllables poses an issue with 3 syllable surname, no?
[name]Frances[/name]/[name]Fran[/name]
[name]Constance[/name]
Family names we like: [name]Joan[/name], [name]Helen[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name]
Other names we like:
[name]June[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] - again, the 3 syllable issue
… Still brainstorming!
I have a much more difficult time with boys’ names.
Family names include: [name]James[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Patrick[/name], [name]Thomas[/name]
Other names:
[name]Arthur[/name] - not into naming my kids with matching initials, though
[name]Yorick[/name] - another name for [name]George[/name]?
[name]Angus[/name] - my partner LOVES this; however, I do not like it, and I think it is FAR too matchy-matchy with [name]Alice[/name]
I’m probably all over the place here. I’d love for you to indulge my name obsession, though!
For girls I really like [name]Stella[/name], [name]Julia[/name], and [name]Matilda[/name]. For boys I like [name]Reid[/name], [name]Noah[/name], and [name]Ethan[/name]
