[name_m]Nature[/name_m] meaning, vowel-heavy, works in a variety of languages, has up-and-coming -o ending, in the UK top 10 for several years already, good alternative for a less popular [name_m]Liam[/name_m], long history of use
I could totally see [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] making the top 10!!
It’s mid-20s right now, but it has all the makings of a top 10 name!! It’s got historical cred (Eleanor Roosevelt), literary references galore (Elinor Dashwood in sense and sensibility), has got two sought-after nicknames (the ever-popular [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and the sweet and spunky Nora), and works very well on both a child and an adult!
I could definitely see it being chosen both by parents who want a long, well-established historical name, as well as parents who just love the sweet sounds and great nickname potential!!
Eliana for sure. It’s melodious, has a charming balance of regal and whimsy, and a very fashionable vowel ending and E initial. It is also on trend with the turn-of-the-20th-century/vintage 1920s names that are coming back into style (Charlotte, Evelyn, Emma) but also sounds fresher/more unique than some other options.
I can definitely see [name_f]Mila[/name_f] entering the top 10 in the near future! It fits the short-but-feminine trend (Emma, [name_f]Ava[/name_f], Luna) and I can see it getting used as a slightly less popular alternative to [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. It’s been, for the most part, steadily on the rise since the year 2000, but hasn’t peaked as a top 10 name yet unlike many other names around the 20 mark (Emily, Chloe), so I think that the top 10 is definitely still in the cards. It also has a very universal appeal, with use across Europe and multiple languages of origin!!
I can totally see [name_f]Nora[/name_f] making the top ten in the next few years! [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is sweet, stylish, and spunky. It’s not too long, and has the slightly vintage flair of names coming back like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. It also has the A ending that most names in the top ten right now have, ex. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f].
I can see [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] making it to the top 10! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s a Biblical name, I’ve been seeing it used by a wide variety of parents! I think the soft -a ending is very on-trend, and that energetic z balances it nicely!
[name_f]My[/name_f] guess would be [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
It appeals like the sleek mini names [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] etc.
It’s been steadily climbing over the previous years.
It’s popular in the UK.
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] gracefully bridges the categories of classic and nature, both of which strongly appeal to modern parents.
[name_f]My[/name_f] vote is for [name_m]Luca[/name_m] (as a boy’s name).
It has been steadily gaining in use over the last 20 years. It’s a cross-cultural choice with broad appeal. It’s similar to already top-10 [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and perenially popular [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. I think that parents are embracing vowel ending names for boys and [name_m]Luca[/name_m] fits perfectly into that trend.
i see it on so many influencer’s lists / children, it has that vowel-heavy -a ending that matches current top 10 girls names, and it is #3 in the UK and Australia - i think the US will follow suit !
It’s UK popularity (and recent top 10 entrance) could be a sign that it may rise
It has a similar feel to the recently popular [name_f]Luna[/name_f] (nature-y but name-y), and fits in with botanical/floral choices such as [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
While it feels fresh and contemporary, it also has similar sounds to well established names, such as [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
It sits neatly between vintage choices such as [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f], modern ones such as [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], and [name_f]Piper[/name_f], nicknam-y ones like [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Billie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], and gender-neutral ones like [name_m]Rowan[/name_m], [name_m]Logan[/name_m], [name_m]Bellamy[/name_m]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Its been steadily climbing for a while and has nearly breached the top 20. I feel like I’ve been seeing it on a lot of hypothetical/future lists and in an increasing number of posts from people who are actively naming babies. The nickname options are cute and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] in particular seems to be trending quite a bit.
[name_m]Can[/name_m] I do one for each gender? [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Mateo[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is more likely (barely) than [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] though, so I’m going with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] if I can only do one between both genders.
My draft that I forgot to press post of last night
My first thought was Willow! It fits a ton of trends, nature name, unisex, simple, yet fun. It’s been climbing the charts faience the 90s and hasn’t dipped once, just getting higher and higher. It has multiple associations, from a fantasy character to a punk rocker so it appeals to a lot of different styles of names, and it’s super versatile because of it. I genuinely think the winning factor for Willow is how versatile it can be as a name, you can picture multiple types of people with different personalities with it, there’s nickname options, it’s easy to say and spell, just all around has the makings for a top 10 name
2nd vote to Mila! I’ve met tons of young Mila’s recently, a lot under 12ish years old but the majority in the 5-8 range and younger, definitely see that one go up super quickly
I’m surprised [name_f]Stella[/name_f] isn’t already in the top 10 or even 30, but I think it will be someday. it shares similar sounds to the top 10 names (Sophia, Isabella), and matches the vibe of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] with its connection to the sky, making it an appealing nature name. it’s also easily recognizable, simple to say and spell.
Any names that get an ‘Evie’ nickname. I think in the US [name_f]Evie[/name_f] isn’t likely to make the top 10 as a nickname but I could see an [name_f]Evelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Everly[/name_f] etc. making it there.
I’m surprised [name_m]Leo[/name_m] isn’t already so [name_m]Leo[/name_m] for sure
Miles has been steadily climbing up the charts and I could easily see it entering the top 20 or even top 10. The Spider-Verse movies likely helped to make it even more popular.
