Opinions wanted please!! We have a girl name picked, but the boys name has been hard. The girls name is [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Boys choices are [name_m]Myles[/name_m] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_m]Myles[/name_m] [name_m]Greyson[/name_m], or [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_m]Myles[/name_m]. Any other suggestions definitely welcome!! No A names cause we don’t want matching letters for first names and no L names due to our last name.
I think I like [name_m]Myles[/name_m] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] best with [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are really nice names. One thing I noticed with [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and a last name starting with L is that her initials would be A.N.L. Now, that doesn’t spell anything bad, but it is pretty close to an unpleasant word. [name_m]Just[/name_m] pointing that out to you because it would bother me if I gave those initials to my daughter without realizing it.
I feel like the boys don’t fit with [name_f]Anaya[/name_f]. What about [name_m]Radley[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_m]Breccan[/name_m], [name_u]Murray[/name_u]***, [name_u]Finlay[/name_u], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]???
I love [name_u]Murray[/name_u] and [name_f]Anaya[/name_f]
Hi,
I don’t have any specific suggestions, because it will depend on your tastes, and what your surname is, but I do think you have a mismatch with the boy and girl names, mostly because Anaya Noelle is rather unusual, but Myles Emerson etc… are a lot more traditional, okay maybe not very traditional, but definitely something I would imagine someone having monogrammed on their briefcase so more conservative perhaps, while I imagine Anaya being more free-spirited and unorthodox. So my suggestion would be to look for 2 traditional names or a more unusual names.
I would suggest Nikolás for a french sounding middle name to match Noelle. Its a little bit christmassy too hehe. Maybe something like River for a first name… Or Kai or Zion?
I guess I should have mentioned the reason why I chose [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] and [name_m]Myles[/name_m] is because of the meanings. [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] means God Answers and [name_m]Myles[/name_m] means gift from God. Due to them being IVF miracles I wanted to give the names Godly meanings.
I would avoid the initials “A.N.L.” too. Also, if the meaning is very important to you I want to point out, that [name_m]Myles[/name_m] does not mean “Gift from God”. Where did you get that? When it comes to meanings, most websites can not be trusted, one of them is nameberry. Only trust the source if it gives you the language and the words the name derives from.
I found the meaning “dear, mild” (origin the Germanic word “mel”) in my most trusted book. Behind the name says it could be a variation of [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and therefor derive from the Slavic element “mil” meaning “gracious”. It also says, that the real meaning and origin is not clear.
So if the meaning is very important to you, I’d try to find something else.
still not loving the boys names with ur girl name as someone else said they are just not different enough to match the girl seems abit mismatched! if I had to pick out of the names I would go for emerson as a first name!
I agree with the style issues but I think if you went with
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] and [name_m]Myles[/name_m] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] you would have a lovely set. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is lovely.
I have a son named [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and I can guarantee that you will love this name for your son so if you feel that [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] would fit in the first name spot I would definitely use it.
rollo
With [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] I like [name_m]Myles[/name_m] [name_m]Greyson[/name_m]. I like the [name_m]Miles[/name_m] spelling better, though. Are you thinking of using the [name_m]Myles[/name_m] spelling because both names would contain the letter “y”?
Oh wow… that makes so much sense.
This is a massive list of names that all mean gift from God, A-Z….if that helps at all!
From the list I like [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_m]Matthias[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], and [name_m]Zane[/name_m].
Congratulations on your babies! Our b/g twins are 3:)
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Matthias[/name_m]? It means gift from God and I think it sounds nice with [name_f]Anaya[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] the babies names sound together will be more important then how they look together. You will say them (like 12-23 times every time you duck into the grocery store with them to grab some diapers and frozen pizza) so much more then you will ever write them.
Have fun. Twins are a wonderful wonderful blessing.
I’m sorry to point it out again, but this is not a trustworthy source either. It lists many [name_m]John[/name_m] variations with the meaning “Gift from God” which is not true, they mean “God is gracious”
[name_u]Micah[/name_u] means “Who is like Yaweh?” and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] has an unknown meaning. The other ones Fianou mentioned do mean “Gift from God”, but most in the list don’t.
I mean this all doesn’t matter if you don’t care what the names mean, I’m just pointing it out cause you mentioned it was important to you.
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] is my favorite boys name and it means “Yahweh has given” (according to behindthename.com). I like the flow of [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] a little better. [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] would be super cute together!
