Which do you like better? [name]Both[/name] are family names. Last name one syllable. Thanks!
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name].
[name]James[/name] gets used as often for boys as [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Grace[/name] do for girls. It does have that nice one-syllable flow but I don’t love it enough to use it in the face of overwhelming popularity. On the flipside, its not a family name for me, which would give it points. So maybe I would consider it. But [name]Simon[/name] would still have the edge for being less used and still familial.
[name]James[/name] is so over used to me, even though its nice, while [name]Simon[/name] is handsome and unexpected. [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name] gets my vote.
I love [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name]! I agree with the others, [name]James[/name] feels very filler, but if it has family significance, I would overlook that. [name]Both[/name] are lovely.
I prefer [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]James[/name] as it flows better - but I agree with the other girls that it is very over-used.
[name]Both[/name] are great, but I’m giving a slight edge to [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name] for the 3-2-1 syllables.
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]James[/name]!
No contest [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name] - swoon!
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]James[/name]! [name]Adore[/name] it.
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name], agreeing with the ‘[name]James[/name] is overused’ consensus.
[name]Both[/name] are wonderful, but I have a preference for [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name]. The more I think about it, the more I love it!
[name]James[/name] by far.
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name]!
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name]
I love [name]James[/name]!
Thanks for the replies, everyone! I agree with the consensus that [name]Simon[/name] is better. Now for winning over DH (who’s name ironically is [name]Simon[/name]!)…

I will! I’m due on [name]Sunday[/name] so it won’t be long If we have a girl, her name will be [name]Adeline[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]. But I really think we will be greeted by a little [name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name] is here! He was born on 12-3-12, all 9lbs of him! We actually decided to go with [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]James[/name] for his name. I still adore [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Simon[/name], and think it may be the superior combo based on phonetics and flow alone, but I couldn’t get my husband on board. His name is [name]Simon[/name], and he told me he just felt strange about using his name as the middle name. He also made the solid point that by using “[name]James[/name],” we could honor both sides of the family (my father and my husband’s brother). So there you have it: [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Kim[/name]. We love his name and think it suits him perfectly! He is such an angel, so its so fitting that he has the [name]Christmas[/name] angel as his namesake. Thank you for your help in making this important decision!
