Thoughts? I heard it once before and I was wondering how everyone thought of the combo; I guess for me the problem using this name would the double T’s. [name]Terry[/name], and [name]Talise[/name]. Should i spell [name]Gabriella[/name] with two L’s or one L?
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of [name]Talise[/name] but I think it flows fine with [name]Gabriella[/name]. I would spell it with two l’s if it were me.
My daughter is named [name]Gabriella[/name] with two l’s. [name]Love[/name] it. Nice combo!

I think [name]Gabriela[/name] with one l only really makes sense if you have a Spanish surname. [name]Gabriella[/name] [name]Talise[/name] is lovely. I think it’s fine with a T surname.
It’s very pretty and lilting, but every time I look at [name]Talise[/name] I hear ‘valise’ (a suitcase).
Supposedly [name]Talise[/name] is a Native American name, but I haven’t been able to find which tribe/language it originates from or what it means.
I read that [name]Talise[/name] is French meaning “of the woods; forest dweller”, but I believe the original spelling was [name]Tallis[/name] in the name book I saw it in. [name]Talise[/name] was a variant spelling in the entry.
I was considering it as a middle name recently, because I loved it’s meaning and it’s French origin.
There’s the Aramaic name [name]Talitha[/name], which means “little girl.” Apocryphally, it is the name of the young girl [name]Jesus[/name] raised from the dead.
[name]Tallis[/name] is an English surname, most famous as that of the composer [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Tallis[/name] (a genius!). The word for forest in French is foret, and the Latin root syl- (forest) has come down in [name]Sylvia[/name], [name]Sylvan[/name], [name]Silvanus[/name], etc… no connection to [name]Talise[/name] that I can see.
I was assuming [name]Talise[/name] was a French variant of [name]Talisa[/name], supposedly “of noble birth.” But here’s some info on it coming from [name]Tallis[/name] and relating to woods. Surname Database: Tallis Last Name Origin
