Thoughts on this name? Also, do you think she would automatically be nicknamed [name_u]Gabby[/name_u], or could she just be [name_f]Ella[/name_f]? (I want [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nn, not Gabby)
I like it but it is a bit dated around me. She could definitely be [name_f]Ella[/name_f] if she introduced herself that way. It’s not as intuitive as [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] because it’s at the end of the name but it obviously works. No telling whether she’d prefer [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] in the future though so if you really don’t like it, maybe avoid the name.
I like it a lot! I think it’s very pretty.
I think [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] is more instinctive but of course if she tells people her nickname is [name_f]Ella[/name_f], they will call her that. People might just assume [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] at first.
I think it is an excellent name. There is always a chance of the [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] nick name, but I even then still think it is worth the chance.
Really like the name! For a long time I associated it with High School Musical, and the connection is still there, but I now think of it as a name first and the character second . I think the nickname [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] is very obvious but I do think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is equally as obvious. So if you want her could [name_f]Ella[/name_f], I guess just correcting people or introducing her as [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] “but we call her Ella” or just saying her name is [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. A friend of my sister was [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] but mostly went by [name_f]Ella[/name_f], so she usually just introduced herself as [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I think that works here too.
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is sweet and elegant
I think she could be [name_f]Ella[/name_f] if that’s what she introduced herself as but some people might assume [name_u]Gabby[/name_u]
[name_f]My[/name_f] experience with nns as a [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] parents call me [name_m]Gabe[/name_m] / Gabes (rhymes with babes)
At age 12 a few friends started calling me Gabs (rhymes with slabs). I preferred that and is still my main nn.
Myself and my parents dislike [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] but it hasn’t been completely avoidable. There’s a few colleagues who call me that that I left it too late to correct haha they’re very nice people so I can forgive them.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] has never come up as a possible nn.
I do like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] for [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] though
I think [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname is perfectly legitimate. I also like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is gorgeous!
I really love [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] (it’s my cousins name) I think she’s elegant, classy and has a gorgeous romantic vibe. Honestly [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is beautiful!!
I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] can definitely work as a nickname for [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]. [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] is more intuitive but if you say her name is [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] but we call her [name_f]Ella[/name_f] I’m sure people will follow suit especially as [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a very obvious nickname.
