Gabrielle: Outdated?

Hello, is Gabrielle outdated? I know Gabriella, is more on trend. But there is something sweet, and an under appreciated elegance. What are your thoughts? Abd any mns are appreciated. TIA!

I don’t think so! It was never massively popular (it peaked at #46 in the US) so it doesn’t seem tied to one generation. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it were dated, I would still like it – it’s so sweet and elegant to me. [name_f]Every[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] I’ve known has been very kind, and they’ve been all different ages, too.

Personally I prefer the look of [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] but the sound of [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]. Either way, neither are dated.

Not at all!

I know a [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] who’s super sweet. I don’t think it’s particularly dated

Sorry [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] didn’t mean to reply to you :joy:

no, i agree, mary.

silently congratulating myself on remembering your name

I find [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] elegant and stylish!

I definitely don’t think so! It feels very 2000’s to me personally! I think it’s a lovely name and I love to see it getting some recognition as I can’t use it but love her anyway :heartpulse:

It has an early 2000s to 2010 feel but by no means do I think it is dated. [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] and [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] are both beautiful, feminine names.

I don’t think so. You could consider [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] if you are wanting something a bit higher on the charts but [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] isn’t that far down itself so it works as is!

It feels fairly 2000s, but that doesn’t make it outdated! Its popularity is pretty recent, after all. There’s nothing wrong with the name.

It has never been super popular, I don’t think it’s tied to a particular era. I know that it peaked in 2000s but it has always been around, so no, I don’t think it’s dated

No, I don’t think so. I think of [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] as more of a quietly sophisticated modern classic.

I’ve met maybe a couple of Gabrielles. I think it’s a lovely name. I wouldn’t say it’s especially common or dated. Certainly not when compared with names like [name_f]Sharon[/name_f] and [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] etc.

For some reason I feel like [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] is slightly dated, while [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] is not in my mind. Maybe because I think of [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] from High School Musical :woman_shrugging:

I think [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] is chic and light, I definitely prefer it to [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f].
