Gah - why must I be so indecisive!

I have my names list narrowed down to two of each. That’ll obviously be narrowed even further in a few weeks time when I find out the gender (but for the record, I think it’s a boy). Right now I’m down to…

[name]Liam[/name] [name]Richard[/name]
[name]Hamish[/name] [name]Michael[/name]

or

[name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Poppy[/name]

But picking one of each - it just can’t be done! [name]One[/name] day I lean more towards one, the next I want the other. And it doesn’t help that whichever I pick means I have to discard a name I adore but will never get to use.

Any advice on how to end this indecicivness? Should I just flip a coin? LOL

I might add that hubby is no help… he isn’t especially fond of any of them. It’s my decision entirely, he granted me that in return for me letting him spend a week in the Phillipines with his friends.

I’d love to ask my mum and dad, but then I also don’t want them knowing the name beforehad, because then there’s no surprise factor for them when baby arrives.

I think that [name]Hamish[/name] [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] go beautifully with [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Heather[/name].

I don’t want to confuse you any further, but I like the name [name]Liam[/name] [name]Michael[/name] for a boy! But for a girl I’d definitely pick [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name].

You know what Erinlw? I could get away with [name]Liam[/name] [name]Michael[/name]. Because [name]Richard[/name] is FIL’s name but [name]Michael[/name] is his middle name

The advantage of [name]Liam[/name] is that it’s also derived from my dad’s middle name. But then I do adore [name]Hamish[/name]. See where I’m coming unstuck? LOL

I agree with erinlw- [name]Liam[/name] [name]Michael[/name] would be nice! As for a girl- I think I would go with [name]Isla[/name] [name]Poppy[/name]. To me the name [name]Violet[/name] is too close to the word violent- but maybe it is just me lol.

Good luck!

I love [name]Liam[/name] [name]Richard[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]! While I’m usually not a [name]Richard[/name] fan (my LN is [name]Richards[/name] and [name]Richard[/name] as a name has always seemed very weird and un-namey to me, lol), I think [name]Liam[/name] [name]Richard[/name] sounds great, and it reminds me of [name]King[/name] [name]Richard[/name] the Lionheart for some reason, haha, maybe because of the similarities of [name]Liam[/name]/lion and of course [name]Richard[/name]… it just has such a regal bearing and I love the image of the tenderhearted lion I get.

And [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] are just two of my favorite girls’ names, I just adore them together.

Good luck!

For me, I’m indecisive. I am only decisive with the lists of other people!

For example, I am soooo proud I recently got down to TEN DIFFERENT names for girls, and have three or four I would use for a firstborn daughter.

But for you? [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] is wonderful, do it. [name]Violet[/name] is known but not super popular, spritely and spring-ish, [name]Annabel[/name] is pretty but all the -belle names are surging, perhaps its best in the middle, bringing a bit of charm to a spot often lumped with leftover [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] or whatever.

[name]Poppy[/name] is one of the few florals I don’t like. [name]Isla[/name] is okay but I am not completely charmed by [name]Isla[/name] AND I think it will get more popular.

I think both [name]Hamish[/name] and [name]Liam[/name] are really nice, but I think [name]Michael[/name] is nicer than [name]Richard[/name]. Tentatively, I give the win to [name]Hamish[/name] [name]Michael[/name], especially since [name]Liam[/name] is very popular, but I worry about the nickname [name]Ham[/name], especially if he’s a bigger guy.

I think you should wait until you meet the little one, it might help! and if not you could always flip a coin then!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think all four of the names are fantastic, but if I had to choose I would go for [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Hamish[/name] [name]Michael[/name].

I like [name]Liam[/name] [name]Richard[/name] far better. I can’t decide which girl name I like better, I love both [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]. I think I like [name]Isla[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] better than [name]Isla[/name] [name]Poppy[/name] though. I think that’s my vote; [name]Isla[/name] [name]Annabel[/name].

I agree with the previous posters - [name]Liam[/name] [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]!

I like all those names quite a bit. I don’t see why you need to narrow it down more though- why not just pick between them once you meet your baby? Or you could try flipping a coin- see how you feel, you might really prefer one to another. That said, I might like [name]Liam[/name] better than [name]Hamish[/name], and [name]Violet[/name] more than [name]Isla[/name], but they are all really lovely names.

I agree–meet the baby and I bet you’ll feel which one is right!

[name]Liam[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] for sure!! [name]Love[/name] them both.

[name]Hamish[/name] [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]. [name]Liam[/name] has become so popular that some of its charm has been lost for me. I find the vintage [name]Violet[/name] more interesting than the more contemporary [name]Isla[/name].
