[name]Pandora[/name] is beautiful but I worry about its history.

I love both names! [name]Tea[/name], definitely, for [name]Galatea[/name]…possibly [name]Gala[/name]? Or Gallie/Gally (like [name]Callie[/name] with a G)…and I adore the name [name]Pandora[/name], and the nn [name]Dora[/name], but what about [name]Pan[/name] (like the satyr?) or [name]Andie[/name]/Pandie? Pandie is a bit of a stretch (maybe one that just you would call her) and the name of a panda puppet I was forced to tell my feelings to in grade school, but still a viable option. Good luck!

I really like [name]Galatea[/name]. I pronounce it gal-uh-[name]TAY[/name]-uh, though-- I don’t know if that’s correct or not. [name]Tea[/name] is a great nickname. I also love the slight [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] connection.

[name]Pandora[/name] is nice, but it reminds me (obviously) of the myth of [name]Pandora[/name]'s box. Plus it sounds a lot like pandas.

I actually like the Panda thing, it might be a cute nickname. And I also prefer the gal-uh-[name]TAY[/name]-uh pronunciation, but Nameberry says its gal-uh-TEH-uh. Which seems a bit awkward to me, but I’m not sure. I’ll have to consult someone who knows a lot about history. And I’m familiar with the [name]Pandora[/name] myth, but [name]Pandora[/name] was also very beautiful and graceful and that’s what I think of.

I love [name]Pandora[/name], nn Panda, mostly due to the awesomeness of the character on Skins (UK teen TV show). It’s a cute name too, [name]IMO[/name].

I’m not quite so keen on [name]Galatea[/name], though I do like it. It’s a nice name, and I really like the nn [name]Tea[/name] for it. I pronounced it Gah-la-tee-uh, but I’m probably totally off.

I would expect [name]Galatea[/name] to be with the long E sound - it’s Greek! I’d say it belongs on a list of “The most beautiful names you aren’t using”.

[name]Pandora[/name] wouldn’t be my taste anyway.

my car’s name is [name]Galatea[/name].

Haha! My car’s name is [name]Shelby[/name]. A [name]GUY[/name] [name]Shelby[/name].

They seem rather dramatic, but I happen to be in a mood today where that’s a good thing.

I really like [name]Pandora[/name]; I don’t really like [name]Galatea[/name] but it sounds good next to [name]Pandora[/name] as a sibset. Overall, I’m not sure if they would be good names for actual children to have but they’re not bad names.

My daughter’s name is [name]Pandora[/name] [name]Hope[/name]. I call her Panda, Panda bear, and Panda-roo . I have gotten compliments and criticism… I can see it either way but as a parent I will raise her to be proud of her nontraditional name and own it. Originally her name was not intended to be linked to the myth but I just could not find a more fitting middle name <3 it was perfect (to me)

[name]Pandora[/name] [name]Hope[/name]!!! Awesome.

I like both the names, but to me [name]Pandora[/name] was a far better character in mythology. I would very much hesitate to name my child [name]Galatea[/name], although it is a lovely name.

[name]How[/name] do you feel about [name]Psyche[/name], Pyrrha, [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Elektra[/name], or [name]Antigone[/name]?
