All writers have their own way of writing. Some are very similar, and some are very different, but they are all at least slightly different because no two people are the same. We can still learn from each other, however. My point is that we should use our differences to train our skills. Let’s write a short story together. One person writes a first draft of the story. Another person takes that and writes a second draft with a little more detail. Then someone writes a third draft with even more detail. It keeps going until we have a full story. But here’s the catch: every time a draft is written, it must be written in a different style than it was in the draft previous. If Person 1 writes in first person view, then Person 2 must either write in second or third person view, change the POV character, or change the wording style. I think it’d be both fun and challenging.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] looked around and noticed that her friend [name_m]Vance[/name_m] was looking at her like there was a chance that an alien invasion might happen. She gulped and wondered if there was a chance that it might happen, but didn’t want it to, since she was not in the mood for an alien invasion at all, and wondered if her cousin [name_u]Sam[/name_u] would probably be caught up in the situation as well as her other cousins, and other family members and the rest of her friends.
“[name_m]Vance[/name_m], I hope we don’t end up in an alien situation,” said [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. “If we do, we might have to find someone that can help stop the aliens from eliminating our planet.” [name_m]Vance[/name_m] nodded and looked at her.
“[name_u]True[/name_u], but we might have to use what we know in order to stop the aliens if no one else is willing to,” said [name_m]Vance[/name_m]. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nodded but still thought that they would have to find someone who had knowledge of weapons in order to stop the aliens from eliminating [name_f]Earth[/name_f] should there be an alien invasion.
“[name_u]True[/name_u], but we need to find someone who could still help us stop the aliens should we end up in an alien invasion.” [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] pointed out. [name_m]Vance[/name_m] nodded and shrugged.

I glanced up and noticed [name_m]Vance[/name_m], my best friend, staring at me. He looked pale, like he was afraid an alien invation would happen. I gulped. That wouldn’t happen. I wasn’t in the mood. My friend and family tend to get caught up in that sort of thing especially my cousin [name_u]Sam[/name_u].
“[name_m]Vance[/name_m],” I said sweetly, “I hope we don’t end up in another alien situation.” I contemplated last time. “we probably need to get in contact with someone who can make sure the planet doesn’t get eliminated,” I added. [name_m]Vance[/name_m] looked up and nodded. I hated it when he was so quiet.
“[name_u]True[/name_u],” he whispered, “but [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], we need to contemplate using what WE know. Last time no one was willing to help.”
“But, we still need protection if an attack happens!” I exclaim. There are to many thoughts going through my head. All of them revolving around weapons and magic to protect us if an invation does happen. [name_m]Vance[/name_m] seemed to think it would happen.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] looks down. I take my chance to look at her closely. She’s changed so much since last time. Her black hair has split ends and is significantly longer, she’s gained a lot of bulky muscles in her arms and legs from living on the run, and the bruise-like ovals under her eyes are growing more pronounced every day, but she has remained just as beautiful. She looks around nervously. Then her bright eyes fall on me and she swallows. “[name_m]Vance[/name_m], I hope we don’t end up in another alien situation,” she says. I can tell she’s trying to stay calm. I smile and she continues. “We probably need to get in contact with someone who can make sure the planet doesn’t get eliminated.”
I nod my head. “[name_u]True[/name_u],” I think back to when this last happened. Three years has passed so quickly. “but first we need to use what we’ve learned ourselves. Not many people even know that this is a problem. And even if they do, what makes you think they’ll help? No one did last time.”
“I don’t care that no one did last time!” she’s getting mad. “We still need protection. What do we know about fighting off aliens?! We’ve only seen them once!”
“Please calm down. Think about what we didn’t know last time. Last time we weren’t even sure if aliens were truly real, let alone how to deal with them. We were able to keep them away for three years, though. I think that even if we had no protection, we would figure out how to do it again. But I agree that protection is important and having some weapons would not hurt. Us, at least.”
“I know.” She sounds defeated.
“[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]?”
“Yeah?”
“We’ll be okay.” She nods and tries to smile. I smile back. We walk back to camp to get ready for lunch. Neither of us talks until after we’ve cleared our plates.
“[name_m]Vance[/name_m]?”
“Yeah?”
“We’ll be okay.”

You look down nervously eyeing our surroundings. I consider calling your name but decide against it. I can’t, however, help thinking about how different you have become in the last three years. Your hair is shaggy, I am bothered by the cuts and bruises on your arms, then again I guess you have the same worry about me. Living on the run does strange things to people. Personality wise, you have become someone I trust. I couldn’t do that last time. “Aliens,” you mutter. It pulls me out of my trance. “[name_m]Vance[/name_m],” I say. I wait for you to respond. You don’t so I move on. “I hope there isn’t another alien situation,” I try to stay clam as I continue, “We need to get in contact with someone who can protect the planet.” I know that you know what I mean but you spin your golden brown hair in your fingers. You did that before. “[name_u]True[/name_u] but,” you pause as if for effect, “we need to use what we know [name_f]Lia[/name_f]. Not many people know this is an issue and if we couldn’t get help last time what makes you think you will this time?” I feel my blood boil. [name_m]Vance[/name_m] are you insane? I want to shout. “I don’t care want happened last time,” I shout," We still need help! I don’t want to be eliminated. And either way one fight doesn’t make us experts." I can feel you withdraw and I feel bad. “Please calm down,” you whisper. I feel bad. I know what you are thinking about how we didn’t even believe in aliens last time. I also know that you know I am right. “Some weapons to protect us wouldn’t hurt I guess,” you say. I sigh. I must wind pathetic. “[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]?” You ask.
“Yah?”
“It will be ok.”
“[name_m]Vance[/name_m]?” I ask.
“Yah?”
“It will be ok.”
You smile and wish me goodnight as you walk past me. I have first watch. No abduction. No attacks. Nothing. That would be nice.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] got tired and decided to switch with [name_m]Vance[/name_m] so that he could take the second watch and as he was taking the second watch, he noticed a girl that looked like Supergirl as well as a bunch of soldiers and aliens, and got out one of his gadgets so that he could be ready in case the aliens were going to fire at him and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
“[name_f]Amelia[/name_f], wake up.” [name_m]Vance[/name_m] told her. “Aliens.” [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] got up and looked at the aliens and the girl that looked like Supergirl as well as the soldiers. She got her stuff ready along with [name_m]Vance[/name_m] and they decided to run but were having trouble and noticed that the Supergirl lookalike was trying to lead them to safety, even though it wasn’t easy due to the fact that the other aliens were trying to eliminate them. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] wondered if there was a chance that the girl was an alien but was trying to defend [name_f]Earth[/name_f].
“The girl could be an alien like Supergirl but is probably trying to defend [name_f]Earth[/name_f],” said [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_m]Vance[/name_m] nodded and looked at her. They were both fans of the show and there was a chance that the girl might be an alien trying to defend [name_f]Earth[/name_f].
“Uh, hi,” said [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. “I’m [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and this is my friend [name_m]Vance[/name_m]. We appreciate that you’re trying to defend our planet and we think that you look similar to the superhero Supergirl, and, like her, could probably be an alien. Is that true?” The girl looked at them and shook her head.
“No, but I did grow up in a family with powers, and my name is WonderStar. My powers are flying, controlling gravity, and magic.” WonderStar said. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Vance[/name_m] looked at her.
“Cool,” [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Vance[/name_m] said in unison, as they looked at her. WonderStar nodded, and looked at them.
“They are cool, but I had to learn how to control them and I want to defend the innocent as well as my planet, so I feel it is my duty to do whatever I can to keep this planet and innocent people safe.” said WonderStar. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Vance[/name_m] looked at her and thought that she might be a cool person to look up to.
