I’ve already heard the comments on the too much “j” sounds, but I’m stuck on both names. I’m in love with the name [name]Gemma[/name] and [name]Jean[/name] is DH grandma’s name (she died right before we met and it was really hard on him). I figure you really don’t use your first and middle names together very often and if she really hates it she can go by [name]Emma[/name] [name]Jean[/name]. My mom goes by her middle name and has her whole life. Thoughts?
I don’t like it, it feels too J, and label like. [name]Emma[/name] [name]Jean[/name] is way better imo.
I don’t think it sounds bad, go for it! I kind of like the double “J/G” sound, it’s not a bad sound to have twice in a row.
I agree, you don’t use your middle name that much. In my husband’s family the tradition is to use family surnames as middle names, and we’ve done that for all three boys. My oldest knows his middle name is my maiden name just because it’s my dad’s last name and my dad is their favorite relative, but the middle one doesn’t know his middle name (and the youngest is one and a half). I changed my middle name to my maiden name when I was married and I’ve barely noticed. I find it kind of funny that people labor over these middle names that nine times out of ten will rarely to never get used except on forms. Then again, I always took the last name middle name thing for granted, and now that we’re expecting a girl and the last name we were GOING to use it turns out my family doesn’t even really care or want us to use and I’m considering giving her a given name middle name, I’m starting to see how middle names can drive you crazy!
I like it, personally. It rolls off the tongue nicely.
I’m not sure if this is a point in its favor or not, but it leaves you the option of the nn [name]Gigi[/name], which I find adorable.
I really like it! Especially with mermaiden6’s suggestion of [name]Gigi[/name] as a nickname. Very cute.
I think it’s fine. I have no problem with repeating sounds, and I love [name]Gemma[/name].
My friend is naming her daughter [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Jean[/name] and I think that the double J sound is lovely. I could see how the G/J difference could throw people off but I think [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Jean[/name] is beautiful and I say go for it!
I love the name [name]Gemma[/name]! Although, I am not a big fan of [name]Jean[/name] , I must say that I like it paired with [name]Gemma[/name] =). I love middle names that have family significance. Stick with [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Jean[/name]!

I like it! I absolutely adore [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Jean[/name] is really sweet with it. I love that [name]Jean[/name] honors, and the alliterative sounds for [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Jean[/name] sounds so cute to my ear! I would love to meet a [name]Gemma[/name], and even more so a [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Jean[/name].
