Gender and names discussion

Hello, all! waves I’m not actually new here, but it’s been so long since my last login that I’ve sort of…aha, forgot my username. (Wow, don’t I feel senile now?) Not to mention I’ve since had my e-mail changed…sooo I just figured it would be simpler to start over. Anyway, I’m very glad to be here. Again.

I’d like to breach a topic brought up in some of the books, that of the names Mom likes for boys and Dad likes for girls. What I mean is, do you think that you being female or male has influenced the way you name your sons/daughters (even hypothetical ones)? If so, in what way? What do you look for in a name for a son vs. a daughter? Has this ever been a point of contention between you and your spouse? [name]How[/name] did you resolve it? And I don’t know if any same-sex couples frequent the Nameberry boards, but I’m sure the same sort of arguments are prevalent in that situation, too.

Please, share your insights!
