I like the nn [name]Ellie[/name] (for a girl)

I prefer [name]Ellinor[/name] over [name]Elliot[/name]. Like rachelxoxo said, [name]Ellie[/name] would be a cute nn for [name]Ellinor[/name]. It would be a little harder to pull a good nn out of [name]Elliot[/name] for a boy, in my opinion!

I prefer [name]Elliot[/name]. There are so many little [name]Ella[/name]'s and [name]Ellie[/name]'s and [name]Ellinor[/name] would probably be misspelled quite often. I do love the name though. But if you love both I’d go with [name]Elliot[/name] for sure.

I prefer [name]Elliot[/name]. [name]Ellinor[/name] might have beat if it was spelled the proper way: [name]Eleanor[/name]

I prefer [name]Elliot[/name], but I love [name]Elinor[/name] (this spelling) too.

If you truly love them equally, you could just let fate decide–if you have a girl first, then [name]Ellinor[/name]; if it’s a boy, then [name]Elliot[/name].

I would’ve voted for [name]Elinor[/name] with one L, which is one of my favorites, but the extra L really throws me for some reason, so I voted for [name]Elliot[/name].

We don’t live in the US and here in Denmark [name]Ellinor[/name] is the “proper” spelling. I might consider [name]Elinor[/name], but that could cause problems in the country where we actually live.

@ Good hope - this is a good point, and most likely how it will end up playing itself out. Ella is a contender as well, despite its popularity, so that might kick both of the others off.

Ooh, this makes me want to change my vote to [name]Ellinor[/name]! I just hadn’t encountered that spelling before, and since I like [name]Elinor[/name] so much the fact that it was so similar but not quite the same momentarily confused me upon first seeing it. [name]Ellinor[/name] is actually quite appealing aesthetically.

I prefer [name]Elinor[/name] spelled this way but hate [name]Ellie[/name], it feels so common since I know so many.

Thank you

I am actually sitting and reasearching a bit myself as well, and [name]Elinor[/name] might not be soooo different that people couldn’t deal with it here. And it would make going to the US easier (husband’s American). Hmmm. Definitely not ruling out [name]Elinor[/name] anymore.

Ditto all of this. [name]Ellinor[/name] will get lost in the sea of [name]Ellie[/name]'s and [name]Ella[/name]'s. I adore the name [name]Elliot[/name]!!
