We are waiting to find out the gender, so we will need to go with both girl and boy options. Would love to get opinions on our narrowed down list.
Our other children have middle names that honor important people in our family, so we want to stick with that. Sibling names are [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f], last name is 3 syllables.
Boy names:
[name_m]Crew[/name_m] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Ernest[/name_m]
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]!
[name_m]Crew[/name_m] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]: I really like [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], but I’m not a big fan of [name_m]Crew[/name_m] I’m afraid. It’s just not a name to me, it’s a word.
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Ernest[/name_m]: absolutely adore this combination. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is fun and playful but also grows with the child: just like [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]! Absolutely perfect.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]: I’m not a fan of boy names on girls, but this is (as you said) an honour name which trumps every thing! I really, really like [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. She’s very underused: [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is becoming more popular, and [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is popular in the middle name spot, but I only know two Annas. I love it!
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]: I feel that [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is a little ‘harsher’ than [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_m]Jack[/name_m] or [name_m]Luke[/name_m] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. I’m just not sure that it works as well. Also, I think of (a) A Streetcar Named Desire (“STELLLAAAA!”) and (b) the word ‘stellar’ (not negative by any means though - it actually has a great meaning!)
To sum up: [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]; or [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are absolutely stunning. Best of luck and congratulations!
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] is fantastic.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] immediately reminded me of [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I also like [name_f]Stella[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is not bad at all in my opinion.
I like your names. I also like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], some folks don’t like the double names with the same letter, but thought those sound good.
I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] better than [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
Thank you all for your responses. You have no idea how much you’ve helped me! I’m now just about 100% set on [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. No one mentioned its popularity, which was the number one reason that I was out searching for name alternatives.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] was my pick, and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] was DH’s. I’m not opposed to [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but was most concerned with it being thought of as “boring” or just “blah.” Doesn’t sound like I have much to worry about :).
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Crew[/name_m]; [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a fun classic, though is weighted down a bit by [name_m]Ernest[/name_m]. The rhythm’s fine, there, though.
As for the ladies, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is the clear winner. The name has enough pep and spunk to carry the male name of [name_u]James[/name_u], whereas [name_f]Anna[/name_f]'s stuffiness makes [name_u]James[/name_u] feel awkward and out of place.
Sounds like you may be leaning toward [name_m]Jack[/name_m], so my comment may be moot but [name_m]Crew[/name_m] is very rhyme-y with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - both having one syllable, long U and K sounds.
I definitely don’t think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is boring!
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though I adore [name_m]Crew[/name_m], I really do love [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. And I will second the [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]. It sounds like a great strong name.
For a girl I love [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]. Its Beautiful! I agree that [name_f]Anna[/name_f], to me, is a little boring but each individual brings their own name to life.
I think that we may be set on [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and perhaps we will go with two girl names to the hospital. If baby is a girl, we can decide once we see her
