Gender unknown...girl name was easy, boy name is DIFFICULT!

This is our third child (gender unknown). We are really struggling to nail down a boy name. To give you an idea of our taste, our kids are [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and this baby will be named [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f] if its a girl. We want a name thats easily recognized, pronounced and spelled, but that`s not necessarily expected based on current trends.

Names we are currently considering, (suggestions more than welcome!!):

  • [name_m]Clark[/name_m] (a name we both agree on and somewhat like, but unsure if we`re just settling)
  • [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] (family name, could also be easily used as a middle name)
  • [name_u]Brady[/name_u] (a name we were initially excited about and both agreed on, but we are now waivering on…and not sure why)
  • [name_m]Anders[/name_m] (hubby loves, but I struggle with pronunciation issues)

WDYT? Thanks a bunch!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f]! I’d like to second [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] as a suggestion.

  • [name_m]Clark[/name_m]- I think this is a great name, unused but easy to pronounce and spell, with a heady dose of charm à la [name_m]Clark[/name_m] [name_m]Gable[/name_m].
  • [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]- A good solid name. I think it is a lovely name, but it is very popular and trendy, and you did seem to be worried about that.
  • [name_u]Brady[/name_u]-A good solid name that would fit nicely with your children. I personally don’t like it, but it is a good name.
  • [name_m]Anders[/name_m]- I think it is a nice enough name, but if you have pronunciation issues with it, don’t name you child that. I still love [name_m]Andrew[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Clark[/name_m] is your loveliest choice, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:

To , [name_m]Clark[/name_m] is perfect with your set. Because [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_m]Clark[/name_m] are my brothers’ names! They often get compliments on how handsome their names are!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Anders[/name_m]! ([name_m]How[/name_m] could that name be said wrong)?
[name_u]Blake[/name_u] and [name_u]Bryce[/name_u] both also came to mind when seeing your names. But [name_m]Anders[/name_m] that is handsome!

I like best the name [name_m]Clark[/name_m] from your list, but I’m sure how I feel about [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_m]Clark[/name_m] as sibs. (Like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m] together, though!) You might also consider:

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Kent[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_u]Dean[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_u]Dane[/name_u]
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Keane[/name_m]

I really like [name_m]Clark[/name_m]! I think it’s so cute and underrated.

Hmm…
[name_m]Clark[/name_m] - a handsome name with a geek chic charm. But I dislike the visually how [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_m]Grant[/name_m] & [name_m]Clark[/name_m] sound together. [name_m]Grant[/name_m] feels isolated amongst the sea of c’s if that makes sense. Also I do feel that [name_m]Clark[/name_m] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sound too similar for a sibling set.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] - A lovely name with great biblical and family connotations. [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_m]Grant[/name_m] & [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] flow really nicely together it’s a great classic sibling set.

[name_u]Brady[/name_u] - I honestly prefer [name_m]Brody[/name_m] which is similar visually but sound wise is totally different. [name_m]Brody[/name_m] has a soft authentic Irish feel, it’s lovely. [name_u]Brady[/name_u] is a cool name though and has a good all-American sound. [name_u]Brady[/name_u], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_m]Grant[/name_m] seem to work really well like they belong together as stylistically and visually they work really well.

[name_m]Anders[/name_m] - A great almost Scandinavian inspired choice. It’s intriguing but doesn’t work as well as with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_m]Grant[/name_m] unlike [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] & [name_u]Brady[/name_u]. Also if there’s pronunciation issues do not use the name. It’ll be awkward if you constantly say your son’s name wrong haha : )

Go with [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] & [name_u]Brady[/name_u]!!

[name_m]Grant[/name_m] {and} [name_m]Clark[/name_m] {or} [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] would be perfect :).
