We have such an amazing list but I’d like some general thoughts on what people think! What do you think of the names on our list? Which do you like the best? We want a more unique name, however there are some names that are more common that are on the list. The last name rhymes with “[name_u]Dallas[/name_u]”!

Gorgeous list!
I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] (love this name - it sounds so simple and elegant!), [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Behati[/name_f] best. I prefer [name_f]Mila[/name_f] to [name_f]Millie[/name_f], and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] to [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
And while I adore [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] as nns for longer forms, I do worry a tiny bit that your child might like something more formal to give her more options in the future - though of course, if you really dislike all of the longer forms for those names, it’s probably better to go with a name you love than to go with one you dislike.
I like the sound of [name_f]Aria[/name_f], but it’s really popular where I live, so I think some of the other names on your list - particularly [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], Melrose and [name_f]Behati[/name_f] - would all make more unique, and equally lovely, choices. (That said, [name_f]Aria[/name_f] could be less common where you are)?
I really like…
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - absolutely gorgeous
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] - I love this on it’s own
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] - I’ve loved this for years but it’s popularity in the UK puts me off
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] - really loving this right now
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
It’s not my thing (or I dislike for no valid reason)…
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] - this always sounded like asteroid to me, plus it’s rather Norse for a non-Scandinavian child/
[name_f]Behati[/name_f] - this is a bit awkward for me to say (I’m not sure I even know how). It’s origins are lovely though.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] - popular in the UK, so I find it a bit dull.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
Melrose
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] - see [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. This has been around for years.
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] - see [name_f]Mia[/name_f].
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
We haven’t come across any [name_f]Aria[/name_f]'s in our area, but we’re really not sure of its popularity where we live!
I forgot to mention our concern with [name_f]Iris[/name_f], we are a bit worried it doesn’t flow with our baby’s last name because both end in the S sound. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it really matters all that much? Or would it sound fine?
If you both really love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] then I wouldn’t worry about it flowing with the last name. But if it’s low on your list, maybe consider a different name.
38 names on your list, 28 of which start with one of 5 letters, 17 of which start with a vowel.
You also seem very committed to short feminine names (26 with 5 letters or less). 32 ending with an -a or an -ie/y
Your outliers seem to be:
Melrose - maybe it’s the rose that attracts you, but most will connect it to Los [name_f]Angeles[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] - an interesting one, very spunky
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - very feminine and pink, you could actually use [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as a nn for this.
[name_f]Liv[/name_f] - top of my list so it’s hard for me to be unbiased, it’s very beautiful.
[name_f]Behati[/name_f] - I’ve never heard of it, very interesting, would love to hear more about it.
My favorites are [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f].
You have a lot of beautiful names. I like all of these:
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] - like as a nn, eg for [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]?
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
But I think you can eliminate some based on your last name. [name_f]Iris[/name_f], most obviously. [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] if it actually starts with a D. But if it’s something like [name_u]Wallis[/name_u], most of these work. I particularly like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Dallas[/name_u]’.
