My vote was for [name]Genevieve[/name], but you might like [name]Gen[/name]ève. I love it! It’s French for [name]Geneva[/name].
You couldn’t really get the nickname [name]Eve[/name] though. Since it is pronounced jen-nev.
I also love [name]Ginevra[/name].
I wouldn’t even think of using the nickname [name]Eve[/name] for [name]Genevieve[/name] or [name]Geneva[/name]. I would just use [name]Eve[/name]. Short and sweet names are just lovely on their own.
Also, have you considered [name]Juniper[/name]? It’s adorable!

I think [name]Genevieve[/name] is very familiar, and that few people will misspell it. And how often will people besides teachers (who have a roster, anyway), be randomly spelling your kid’s name? It comes up less often than you’d think, almost never.

I like PP’s suggestions of Geneve. [name]Even[/name] if you pronounce it zhe-[name]NEV[/name], [name]Eve[/name] would be a valid nick.

[name]Geneva[/name] lacks sparkle. [name]Genevieve[/name] has so much more character, and it doesn’t end an A like every girl name in the universe. is bitter

I voted [name]Genevieve[/name], 1) because I generally dislike place names (with a few exceptions). and 2) I think the nickname [name]Eve[/name] works better for [name]Genevieve[/name] than [name]Geneva[/name].I like [name]Eve[/name] as a nickname for many other names, as well as a name in it’s own right, but between these two my vote was Geneveieve.

I absolutely love both. Going purely off sound, [name]Genevieve[/name] is easily one of my favorite names. I think the sound of it is just gorgeous. However, it’s a bit too well-used for my tastes. I’d love to see one, but I don’t think that I would use it. [name]Geneva[/name] is also gorgeous (I just slightly prefer [name]Genevieve[/name] - there’s something about ending in a V sound that I really like), it’s much less common than [name]Genevieve[/name] is, and it has some personal significance for me. It’s a really hard choice for me.

I really don’t think that [name]Genevieve[/name] would be misspelled constantly. It’s in the top 300 right now and it was top 100 at one point (granted, that was a long time ago). I would imagine that most people would be familiar with it.

I don’t think that you could go wrong with either name.

I voted for [name]Genevieve[/name], but [name]Geneva[/name] is also lovely and interesting!

I voted [name]Geneva[/name]. It’s a lovely name and I find [name]Genevieve[/name] also lovely, but a tad bit more popular. [name]Geneva[/name] is also my middle name, and my great grandmother’s name so I might be a little biased

I met someone named [name]Geneva[/name] recently, and I really liked it. She goes by [name]Gen[/name] most of the time, apparently, which I think is nice. But I prefer the name [name]Genevieve[/name]. It’s a beautiful name and I don’t immediately think of a city.

I want to love [name]Geneva[/name] but I always immediately want to follow “[name]Geneva[/name],” with “Convention.”

I voted for [name]Genevieve[/name]. I think that the name is perfect and like the nn [name]Eve[/name]. Also like [name]Neve[/name] as a nn too! I like [name]Geneva[/name] too and the city is gorgeous.

I love both name but I voted for [name]Geneva[/name] because I just fiund it cuter and I like that it isn’t that popular.

I prefer [name]Genevieve[/name], but if [name]Genoveva[/name] was in the running, I would have to seriously reconsider.

Much as I love [name]Genevieve[/name], I find [name]Geneva[/name] to be irresistibly gorgeous. My first (early) exposure to [name]Geneva[/name] was as a girl’s name (wonderful character in a book), so the name does not remind me of the place name at all.

I adore [name]Genevieve[/name] - she’s so bright and bouncy. If I end up with two daughters, I would love to have [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name]!

I do love both, but if I were to actually use one, I’d use [name]Geneva[/name]. I love that it’s a place name, I love the sound, and as an avid physics enthusiast I love that it has references to it as CERN is partly situated in [name]Geneva[/name].

While neither are to my taste (I like [name]Eve[/name]) I voted for [name]Genevieve[/name]. [name]Geneva[/name] sound like an old lady name to my ears.

The [name]Geneva[/name] Convention is not appealing. After that, Switzerland, and I don’t find place names appealing at all, especially without a personal connection to the city.

[name]Genevieve[/name] wins far and away.

If I was going for ease of spelling and the nature meaning, I find [name]Juniper[/name] itself much more appealing than [name]Geneva[/name], as I like the idea of -er names that aren’t occupational.

I think [name]Genevieve[/name] is known widely enough for the spelling of it to not be an issue.

Personally, I love both names! I know 2 girls who are named [name]Genevieve[/name] - one of them likes the nn [name]Gen[/name]. I think it is a lovely name.

I also like [name]Geneva[/name] because it is less commonly used and has a soft sound to it, and rolls very easily off the tongue.

For me, it’s a tie!

Perhaps it boils down to whether you prefer a name that is being used a bit more nowadays, or one which is not used very much.

Best of luck!

[name]Geneva[/name]. I strongly dislike [name]Genevieve[/name], I’m afraid.

I adore [name]Genevieve[/name]! It’s gorgeous, frilly and feminine, but offers several casual nns/pet names as well.

[name]Geneva[/name] feels a little ‘old lady’ to me, and it doesn’t seem to be one of the older names that’s coming back into fashion.
