[name]Genevieve[/name]! I love it, and its nicknames (especially [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Niamh[/name]/[name]Neve[/name]!). While I appreciate [name]Guinevere[/name]'s nns ([name]Gwen[/name], [name]Winnie[/name], [name]Vera[/name], [name]Neve[/name]/[name]Niamh[/name]), I prefer [name]Genevieve[/name] and find it much more wearable. I used to love the idea of [name]Guinevere[/name], too, and would have used it in a story, but while it might have been amazing on that one little girl, there are a lot of little girls I know who could never pull it off. I could never pull it off. It’s a lot of name, it comes with very strong associations, but yeah, it is very lovely.
Good luck!
[name]Guinevere[/name]. I don’t love it, but I really can’t stand [name]Genevieve[/name].
Though both are absolutely lovely, I prefer [name]Genevieve[/name]. It has a sweeter feel to me compared to [name]Guinevere[/name].
Like you, I quite love both, but I voted for [name]Genevieve[/name] simply because I needed a tie breaker and this is the one I would use on my own child. Actually at the sonogram today when I found out I was having a girl, [name]Genevieve[/name] was the name that came to mind. We’re pretty set on [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] though so it would be a tough fight. Gosh, [name]Genevieve[/name] just sounds and feels sooooo romantic!
I love the name [name]Genevieve[/name] very much so it definitely gets my vote! [name]Guinevere[/name] is not really my style at all.
[name]Bree[/name]
I definitely prefer [name]Guinevere[/name] over [name]Genevieve[/name] as a name for my child. BUT for a sister for little [name]Leo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] I like [name]Genevieve[/name] better. It also seems more in tone with the names in your signature.
I love both names and don’t think you could go wrong with either. I voted [name]Guinevere[/name] for a few reasons… first, I think if you love it you should go for it! Also, I think there will be a lot more Genevieves than Guineveres, so it would be nice for your daughter to have the more unique name. And finally, while I feel like [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Guinevere[/name] both sound great, I think [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Gwen[/name] would be a super perfect pair!
i think [name]Genevieve[/name] is more elegant and noble. i adore the name. however i think i can’t use it for my child’s name. i think it’s too heavy and would not fit for a light, cheerful and active girl. i think it would fit for an adult woman or girly, elegant and calm girl.
[name]Genevieve[/name] sounds wonderful and does sound elegant and noble, as el_hae commented. [name]Guinevere[/name]… not even.
