Genevieve &?

Our daughter’s name is [name]Genevieve[/name] but we’re having trouble thinking of something that works with it. Our son is due in [name]October[/name].

We’re open to suggestions but our current list includes
[name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]
[name]Phineas[/name] (concerned about cartoon)
[name]Griffin[/name] (don’t really want two “G” names)
[name]Everett[/name]

My husband is afraid he’ll regret [name]Augustus[/name] (but can’t explain why even though it was his suggestion). He’s not loving [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Griffin[/name], [name]Everett[/name] or [name]Oliver[/name]… he likes [name]Theodore[/name] & [name]Stuart[/name] but I can’t get on board with either one even though I’ve tried. Ugh!! HELP

From your choices I like [name]Oliver[/name] the most.

or

[name]Laurence[/name]
[name]Harrison[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Jameson[/name]

What do you call your daughter? Does she have a nickname?

[name]Oliver[/name] & [name]Genevieve[/name] go together well, so do [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name].
I also like [name]Alexander[/name] with [name]Genevieve[/name]. You’ve got a lot of solid choices already, but here are a few others:

[name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Augustine[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name]/[name]Cyril[/name]
[name]Dominick[/name]
[name]Gregory[/name]
[name]Matthias[/name]
[name]Phillip[/name]
[name]Victor[/name]

[name]Thaddeus[/name]? [name]Emmanuel[/name]? Or maybe a French boy’s name to go with [name]Genevieve[/name]? 79 Rare French Boy Names | Nameberry. I like [name]Rainier[/name], [name]Luc[/name], [name]Blaise[/name] and [name]Benoit[/name]. Or maybe another international name? 175 Cool International Boy Names | Nameberry

Of your list, [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Finley[/name] seem to be the ones that neither of you dislikes. Of the two, I would choose [name]Henry[/name], but that’s just my personal taste. Good luck!

[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Griffin[/name] sound really good, could you use the nn [name]Finn[/name]? Suggestions-

[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Toby[/name]
[name]Quincy[/name]
[name]Evan[/name]
[name]Jerome[/name]
[name]Jeremy[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Luke[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I have a daughter [name]Genevieve[/name] and our son is [name]Alexander[/name]. Other boy names that were on our list were:

[name]Phineas[/name]
[name]Lucien[/name]
[name]Gideon[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Nathanial[/name]
[name]Harrison[/name]
[name]Zachary[/name]

Good luck!

You guys seem to be leaning traditional, with hints of [name]Scotland[/name] or medieval Europe

I’ll suggest
[name]Lewis[/name]
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Alfred[/name]
[name]Martin[/name]
[name]Fraser[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Alastair[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Francis[/name]
[name]Douglas[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name]

[name]Augustus[/name] may be a bit imperial. You could shorten it to [name]August[/name]. If the cartoon is the only reservation about [name]Phinneas[/name], I think that there will be different cartoons when your son hits 5 or 6 years of age. I’d worry more about the fact that [name]Julia[/name] [name]Roberts[/name] named one of her kids [name]Phinneas[/name].
