George or Thomas for sister Gemma?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! I have a DD named [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], and we are expecting a baby boy this summer. My husband and I are pretty stuck on finding a name. It was very easy to name our daughter.

We like strong, classic and kingly names for boys. We have a specifical affinity toward British names, since our daughter was born in [name_f]England[/name_f].

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] doesn’t go well with our last name, which is a shame because it’s my favorite.

I am leaning toward [name_m]George[/name_m]. But do you think [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] go together at all? Is the G and G too cutsie?

Other option is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

So, which do you think goes best with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]? And which do you like best? [name_m]George[/name_m] or [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]?

I love both [name_m]George[/name_m] & [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. I wouldn’t consider [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] as kingly as [name_m]George[/name_m] but I like both equally. I also do like how [name_m]George[/name_m]&[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] sound together, I think with [name_m]George[/name_m] being a strong name it prevents the cutsieness stigma of using the same initial.

As a Britainian :smiley: here’s some more suggestions just in case;

[name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Harry[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]

I prefer thomas with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], though I think [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] could work

I prefer [name_m]George[/name_m] over [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

I have always been fond of [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], personally. However, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with both your children having the same first initial.

Both names are great! I like [name_m]George[/name_m] with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]. The G & G just flow very nicely together! But [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] also goes well with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], so I don’t think you could go wrong either way.

[name_m]George[/name_m] would be a great choice.

Also:

[name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m]

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] make a fantastic sibling set. I adore [name_m]George[/name_m]. So strong and handsome.

[name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] are adorable together. I also love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

I like [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]!

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m] are great! I love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] too.

Thank you all for the feedback! Helps a lot! [name_u]Love[/name_u] some of the other suggestions too.

My favorite of your two top choices is [name_m]George[/name_m], and I love [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]! I also like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], though, and the suggestion of [name_m]Philip[/name_m]/[name_m]Phillip[/name_m]

I prefer [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], but [name_m]George[/name_m] as a name generally, to the point that I’d probably pick [name_m]George[/name_m] anyway.

I am going [name_m]George[/name_m] as I just got my heart broken by a [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Also it sounds better. Definitely not bitter.

I love both [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is beautiful. I personally find [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] too much together. I prefer [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], as a brother to [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] & [name_m]George[/name_m]. The G names flow very nicely without being too much. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is cute, but I definitely prefer [name_m]George[/name_m]. Classy and cute!

Either work well, and I love both. I would personally choose [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
